Application’s deadline is August 9, 2026. The Black Box International Theatre and Dance Festival is held each year from May 31 to June 12 in the city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The first festival edition was held in 2007, since then the  Black Box features theatre and dance companies from all over the world, presenting performances and events from more than 31 countries and four continents so far. The festival is organized by the Black Box Foundation, in partnership with the Municipality of Plovdiv and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria. Bulgaria’s foreign embassies and cultural institutes also play an active role in co-organizing the event.
