Call for artists, curators, designers, architects and activists Post date 16/08/2026 frappantgalerie: Frappant Open Call 2027 The Frappant e. V. calls artists, curators, designers, architects and activists to apply with their exhibition concepts to have a show at the Frappant Gallery in 2027. The Frappant Gallery is a non commercial exhibition space amidst a larger, cooperatively managed center for alternative culture, education, creative industry and social issues in Hamburg-Altona. We especially welcome applications: – with concepts intending the interaction of at least three artistic positions (Please note that solo exhibitions are not considered for this open call.); put forward by freelance curators; – with approaches and projects, that transcend genres or are spatially encompassing (analogue and digital); – by transregional collaborations, involving artists from Hamburg; – exchange with other independent art and project spaces outside of Hamburg; – with exhibition concepts, that operate interdisciplinary between fine arts, performing arts, music, text/literature, urbanism and social culture; – of projects that observe, critique, question, queer, redesign, de construct, assume feminist positions and contain perspectives alternative to the western-heteronormative viewpoint; – planning for “extras” during the exhibition (performances, lectures, work shops, screenings etc.) 📌Who can apply: Professionally working artists, curators, designers, architects, activists can exhibit in Frappant Galerie, after having submitted a conclusive, written exhibition concept that has been accepted by the Frappant exhibition team.
