Do you want dedicated time to focus on your work, explore new ideas, and collaborate with inspiring people from around the world? StartArt Residency is an affordable, all-inclusive creative residency in Northern Portugal, open to artists, writers, photographers, musicians, designers, and multidisciplinary creatives at every stage of their journey. Residents can stay from one week to one month, developing an existing project, beginning something new, or simply reconnecting with their creativity in a supportive international community. Located beside the Homem River, StartArt offers a peaceful natural environment where you can swim, slow down, and find inspiration. The program includes accommodation, three vegetarian meals per day, creative workspaces, workshops, nature activities, community evenings, and visits to historic cities filled with art, culture, and architecture. Come with a clear project, a new idea, or simply the desire to create. StartArt gives you the space, time, and connections to move your creative journey forward. Duration of residency 7 days (it can be extended up to 28 days – 4 weeks art residency) Includes 3 vegetarian meals per day and 4 community connection activities during the week. Accommodation Weekly rates start at: €420 — Shared bunk-bed accommodation €560 — Private room with a shared bathroom €700 — Private room with a private bathroom, balcony, and river view All options include accommodation, three vegetarian meals per day, access to creative spaces, and the residency’s community activities. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance StartArt welcomes artists, writers, photographers, filmmakers, musicians, designers, and multidisciplinary creatives. Residents have access to indoor studios, flexible shared workspaces, and open-air creative areas where they can develop personal or collaborative projects. Located in nature beside the Homem River, the residency offers an inspiring environment for artistic research, experimentation, photography, writing, and creative reflection. Basic equipment and practical assistance are available, and residents are encouraged to contact us in advance regarding any specific technical or material requirements.Studio / Workspace Residents have access to shared indoor studios, flexible creative rooms, and open-air workspaces throughout the property. The spaces can be adapted for painting, drawing, writing, photography, design, and multidisciplinary projects. The studios are primarily shared, encouraging exchange and collaboration, while quieter areas are available for residents who need greater focus.
