Open Call | 2nd Session R.A.R.O. Buenos Aires 2026 Deadline: 04 Sep 2026 Country: Argentina R.A.R.O. (Residencias Artísticas Raramente Organizadas) is an international residency program for artists born from the need to generate links and exchanges. In these residencies, we contemplate production and artistic reflection in relation to multidisciplinary synergies and collaborations. We are a decentralized and self-managed program operating through a training and support network made up of more than 25 local artist studios ready to receive others in their spaces. Our dynamic is primarily itinerant and relational. Since 2014, we have opened our doors in Buenos Aires, a city where we have hosted more than 300 residents and where we have generated different scholarship programs for both Argentine and foreign artists, developing agreements with various institutions and contributing to the strengthening of production and exchange between disciplines. Since 2024, we inaugurated our program in Bogotá. The key element of the residencies we propose is the possibility of working with different artists, curators, managers, and researchers in an itinerant manner during a specific time; this is essential for generating spaces for dialogue and collaboration between participants and hosts. In parallel with the work processes in each space, we generate an agenda of activities such as studio visits, talks, and clinics, among others, which are complementary and enrich the experience of each resident, allowing them to relate to different spaces and actors according to the nature of their own projects. Duration of residency We invite artists, managers, curators, and other interested parties from Argentina and all nationalities to apply for the 2nd Session R.A.R.O. Buenos Aires 2026, which is open until September 4, 2026. The R.A.R.O. Buenos Aires program is aimed at a wide range of profiles, including artists with or without academic training, self-taught, emerging, or professional creators of any background, and researchers working in any artistic medium. Furthermore, the call extends to curators, cultural and social managers, human rights defenders, and anyone interested in developing projects linked to art and culture.   This residency format consists of a period of six (6) weeks. Within this timeframe, four (4) weeks are dedicated to working in the selected studios. There, residents will be able to develop their processes, connect with other artists in the program, and meet the local artists working in each space. Subsequently, the residency will conclude with a one (1) week final exhibition. During this week, and alongside a mounting team and the edition’s curator, each resident will receive the necessary support so the group can exhibit the processes they worked on during the program. Additionally, residents will have curatorial meetings, workshops, and advisory sessions from the R.A.R.O. Team, as well as tours and visits through the city’s artistic circuit and group photographic documentation. Format: Macro-Residency Dates: From October 8 to November 15. The title refers to Earth as the only known place in the cosmos where life has developed, framing the biennial around ecological awareness, responsibility, and reflection on human impact. The competition invites digitally created works in two main categories: Graphics, including digital graphics, digital painting, digital collage and digital drawing, and Video, including videos and animations. Its stated aim is to present the most interesting submitted works through post-competition exhibitions and to select award-winning artists. “THE ONE” is positioned as a platform for contemporary digital art that addresses urgent environmental questions through image, motion and animation. By focusing on the uniqueness of Earth and the consequences of civilization’s progress, the biennial encourages artists to turn digital practice into a space for public discussion about the planet’s future. La Porte Peinte Open Call May 2027 Deadline: 15 Sep 2026 Country: France La Porte Peinte is an international arts centre located in Noyers sur Serein, a medieval village in Burgundy that is celebrated as one of the 100 most beautiful villages in France. Nestled within an elegant curve of the Serein river, the medieval cité of Noyers sur Serein sits in a pastoral northern Burgundy landscape of cherry trees, wheat fields, rolling meadows, forests and world-renowned vineyards. Deer, wild boar, pheasants and foxes roam the countryside, which is dotted with storied châteaux, quaint market towns and centuries-old stone abbeys. The UNESCO heritage site Vezelay is 30 minutes away. Based in a rambling medieval half-timbered building that leans out over the village square like something from a fairy tale, La Porte Peinte offers artists, makers, musicians and writers in residence the opportunity to engage in creative exploration and exchange in an unusually inspiring and supportive environment. Doors opened in September 2011 with the first artists in residence and the launch of the 160 m2 ground-floor gallery, followed later by the opening of a café and a shop. La Porte Peinte’s five comfortable bedrooms are supplemented by four bedrooms in a nearby annex, another imposing and atmospheric medieval house. There are nine private studio spaces, along with workshop spaces and event spaces that are available for classes and performances. Along with residency accommodation, each creator in residence chooses their private studio space from among those available. We welcome artists, performers, writers, musicians, filmmakers, photographers, and creative thinkers. Collaborative groups and partnerships are welcome to apply. While most residencies are artist-funded, we also offer a limited number of fully and partially funded residencies. We offer occasional themed and partnership residencies, and we are delighted to offer family residencies during specific periods. (Unless specified as a family residency, usually it is preferable for a resident not to be accompanied by a non-working companion, but we will consider such requests. If an artist wishes to bring a child but not as part of a family residency, we would endeavour to arrange for full-time child-care, for which there would be a supplementary fee.) In addition to our core self-directed residency programme, we offer individually tailored mentored residencies for artists, writers and creators of any age or career stage. Duration of residency Minimum stay two weeks, maximum stay six months. Average stay is one month. LPP USA aims to actively seek out such artists wherever in the world they may be, and to extend support to them through residencies, masterclasses, collaborations, or exhibitions. 7th International Choreographic Competition LINKAGE Jul 19, 2026 | Open Calls The International Choreographic Competition LINKAGE is open to contemporary dance solos and duets with a duration of 5–13 minutes. Where: Stara Zagora, Bulgaria When: 6 – 9 November 2026 Deadline for applications: 20th of September, 2026 TERMS & CONDITIONS – Contemporary dance solos or duets with a duration of 5 to 13 minutes are eligible. – A choreographer may also perform in their own work. – There are no nationality restrictions. – Candidates up to 40 years of age are eligible. – The competition will be held live at the State Opera – Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. – A pre-selection jury will select 10 choreographers to become finalists of the 7th International Choreographic Competition LINKAGE and present their works live. – The finalists will be announced no later than 25 September 2026. – The competition will take place over four calendar days (6–9 November 2026). Technical rehearsals on stage will begin on 7 November. – Each finalist/team will be allocated one hour on stage for technical rehearsal, lighting adjustments and stage set-up. – Props and set pieces are permitted only if the performers can bring them on and off the stage without assistance. – By participating in the competition, all participants agree to be photographed and filmed during the competition and the Gala Evening.
