RECYCLE ART LAB Deadline: 19 Oct 2026 Country: Global A 4-Week Online Artistic Research Laboratory ( group 2-4 participants ) From discarded material and forgotten artworks to new contemporary meaning Recycle Art Lab is a four-week online laboratory for established artists and creative practitioners interested in transforming discarded materials, found objects, obsolete images, abandoned artworks and existing artistic works into new contemporary artistic propositions. The Lab explores recycling and upcycling not as techniques, but as conceptual and artistic strategies. Participants can approach the Lab through different directions: MATERIAL TRANSFORMATION Creating a new artwork from discarded, found, obsolete or unwanted materials and objects. ARTWORK TRANSFORMATION Taking an existing, abandoned, unfinished, rejected or forgotten artwork and transforming it into a new contemporary work. Both approaches begin with something that already exists. The question is not simply how to reuse it, but what new meaning can emerge through its transformation. What happens when an object considered worthless becomes an artwork? / What happens when an artwork that has reached the end of its original life becomes the material for a new work? / Can destruction become creation? / Can the history of an existing object or artwork become part of a new artistic language? / And how can something from the past be transformed into something that speaks about the present? Duration of residency 4 weeks The program is not a full time. The artists will have the majority of time to continue their work. There will be weekly meetings throughout the 4 weeks, which the artists will be expected to attend. At the end of the lab, the online viewing and discussion around the work created will be organized. This will be moderated by the program advisor, who will also provide commentary on the works. Accommodation We will communicate through digital tools and will use platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet to share the works and their feedback. You will need a phone or computer and an internet connection, of course. The ability to collaborate and interact with English is preferred as the program will be conducted in English.
