Greek Island Village Escape Deadline: 08 Aug 2026 Country: Greece The Ano Asites Artit Residency is located in a quiet village, on the Greek island of Crete, half an hour from Heraklion City. It is run by the more establish Lakkos Artist Residency in Heraklion City. The village residency is perfect for creative people, who are looking for some isolation to work on their projects. It runs for twelve months of the year. This residency is most likely for somebody who has been to Greece before and does not need to run around doing touristy things. If you would like to do touristy things it would be better to stay in the city residency or hire a car as well. It offers a more authentic experience. You must have an independent spirit and like solitude. It is run by an Australian who lives between the village and the city. Please see the website for more information. Duration of residency Two weeks minimum stay. Accommodation There are two accommodation options. One newly renovated village apartment with two bedrooms. It’s location is close to a small sheep bell-making workshop so is sometimes not quiet during working days. This location is good to get to know some of the locals. Also, we have an amazing mountain hut for people with no mobility issues. This has total isolation. and an amazing mountain hut. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance All disciplines.Studio / Workspace Most artists end up working on the terrace or kitchen in the village apartment. The mountain hut has one large room or the outside terrace on less windy days.Fees and support The village apartment and mountain hut are both 300 Euros per week.
