The Energy of the Metropoli Deadline: 27 Aug 2026 Country: Spain A Photographic Dialogue Between Athens & Barcelona Urban Art Project Athens (UAPA) invites photographers, visual artists, and urban storytellers to participate in UAPA #2, an international group exhibition taking place this October at Haba Art Gallery in Barcelona. Held under the official auspices of the Embassy of Greece in Spain and the Municipality of Athens, this initiative explores the raw, dynamic, and poetic connections between two iconic Mediterranean capitals. ABOUT THE PROJECT Metropolises are living organisms, shaped by history, continuous movement, human encounters, and spatial evolution. "The Energy of the Metropolis" seeks to map the shared urban soul and distinct rhythms of Athens and Barcelona. Through visual storytelling, participating artists will contribute to an evolving cross-border conversation on how we inhabit, experience, and reimagine the modern city. EXHIBITION CATEGORIES To capture the multi-layered character of the urban landscape, submissions are open across 7 distinct thematic categories: 1. On the street 2. Urban Landscapes 3. Abstract 4. Portraits of the City 5. Heritage 6. Abstract & Mixed forms of photography 7. Tradition This exhibition is held under the auspices of the Embassy of Spain in Greece and the Municipality of Athens. Duration of residency One week Accommodation We do not provide accommodation, but we can help you find some. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance PhotographyStudio / Workspace The space features: – An exhibition area with video projection capabilities (180 m²). – A meeting room with a private area (20 m²). – Areas for a kitchen, restrooms, framing, packing, and art storage.Fees and support From 70€ to 130€ depends on the size of the photo and the artist’s location. After the application someone from our team will contact you with more details. We offer a space for exhibition in Barcelona during octobre 15th to 19th, 2026. With opening day with live music, and activities during the exhibition. We handle the framing, exhibition production, marketing, and promotion and institutional backing. As part of the activities, we have a collaboration with the Greek and Cypriot Film Festival for orginizing an evening of cinema exploring the relationship between Barcelona and Athens. Expectations towards the artist The artists will exhibit the selected works and conduct an optional guided tour. There are no other obligations.
