RESIDENCY OPENING, 27 OCTOBER TO 27 NOVEMBER WITH EXPO Deadline: 25 Oct 2026 Country: France The “Standard Residency” is a one-month residency and is open to artists working in different mediums. Artists are given the opportunity to create new work in an inspiring environment, discover the region and meet the local population. A group exhibition is organised at the end of the session in the historic centre of Vallauris. A space has become availbele in our fall standard residency 2026: Session VI: October 27 – November 27, 2026 Do not miss the opportunity to take part in our Fall residency — a pleasant time of the year in la Côte d’Azur — we would be delighted to welcome you: Located in the heart of the old town Vallauris, on the French Riviera, A.I.R. Vallauris (Artists in Residence), a non-profit association, welcomes artists from around the world to its lodgings and studios to meet with local artists and to research and create new works in a unique setting. In its 25th season, A.I.R. Vallauris has welcomed over 500 international artists since its conception in 2001. The Association has three primary objectives: - The hosting of international artists and the support of contemporary creation. - Education in (primarily, but not exclusively) the field of ceramic arts. - The organisation and realisation of cultural events. A.I.R. Vallauris accommodates several artists at a given time in its residence and studios. Using different mediums artists (ceramists, sculptors, painters, photographers, video and multimedia) work from an equipped studio, live in individual furnished spaces and are afforded access to a gallery where their works are displayed and celebrated at the end of their residency period. Media involvement encourages the interest of an invited and engaged audience. The quality of artistic creation is one of the major concerns addressed by the program. A selection committee evaluates applicants based on their artistic experience, merit and project proposal. Duration of residency Exeptionally available fall standard residency 2026 Session VI: October 27 – November 27, 2026 – One spot remaining Accommodation Accommodation is included in the residency fee. Each artist is provided with a private room in a traditional village house located on Place Lisnard, in the historic old town of Vallauris. One floor of the house is dedicated to a shared kitchen and a common gathering space, fostering exchange and interaction among residents. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance Ceramics, Visual Arts, Design, Architecture, Interdisciplinary Practices, MusicStudio / Workspace Each artist is assigned an individual workspace within one of A.I.R. Vallauris' studios. These workspaces may be either private or shared. The studios are located close to the residence, in the historic old town of Vallauris.Fees and support The fees for the various programs include accommodation, 24/7 access to the studio facilities, exhibition opportunities, and ongoing daily support. Expectations towards the artist Artists are encouraged to present the works created during their residency to the public through exhibitions or performances. These events are often organized by A.I.R. Vallauris in prestigious venues. Application information Please contact us by email to request an application form.
