MARCH 2027 Arraiolos Portugal Deadline: 31 Oct 2026 Country: Portugal ABOUT We are open for visual arts/textile/writing/music projects for March 2027: Artists, researchers, writers and musicians are welcome. Our program, running since 2016 in the peaceful town of Arraiolos, Portugal, provides a perfect space and time to focus in work, make new connections, learn new skills and discover the Alentejo Region together with a group of multidisciplinary artists. Duration of residency 4 weeks 15th March – 11 April 2027 Accommodation Artist accommodation and studios are located, in a XVIII-century manor house in the center of the town. House has private bedrooms, shared bathrooms, kitchen, living and dining room, meeting and screening room, studios and workspaces, terrace, garden, and courtyard. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance The general residency program includes: Regular project follow-up and curatorship; Portfolio presentations; Networking and support with local and regional resources; Excursions to the region’s natural, historical, and industrial heritage sites;Studio / Workspace Depending on the discipline and needs, each artist will be assigned a workspace, either in a private or shared studio. The residency also offers access to a printmaking studio. Studios are equipped with: Printmaking press (Reig 150); Yamaha Clavinova digital piano; Video projectors and speaker; Ashford Loom 8 shaft; 4 x Tapestry looms 40x60cm Sewing machine Singer Heavy Duty 4411; Tools for Textile dyeing: 4 x electric induction stoves, 12 x induction pans, 20 liters buckets; thermometer, scale, long spoons, inox tweezers, inox strainers, 4measure jars.Fees and support €300/week, which includes: Accommodation in a private room at the Córtex Frontal house;Access to shared areas (fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living rooms, terrace, patio, and garden);Studio space;All utilities, Wi-Fi, free access to laundry facilities and bicycles;discount on our workshops We will provide information on third-party funding opportunities and support applicants in submitting their residency funding applications. Expectations towards the artist Depending on the case and the artist’s timeframe/plans, we will organize an event for the local community, such as artist talks or workshops, either at the local school or at the School of Arts of the University.Open studio at the end of the residency.
