Strengthen your practice, receive critical curatorial feedback, build solid connections, and develop visibility through a curated NYC solo exhibition and gallery representation. No relocation, no studio rent, no visa logistics. Weekly group sessions, monthly one-on-one meetings, and rotating curators and artist advisors guide you through a structured process. The residency culminates the following year in a curated solo exhibition in our NYC gallery space, with documentation and Artsy presence for 1–2 years. Duration of residency UAR is structured as a one-year residency, with a flexible quarterly entry pathway for artists who prefer to begin with a 12-week commitment. The year-long residency is a full arc that leads to a curated NYC solo exhibition, Uncool Gallery representation and Artsy presence. The quarterly residency is a focused 12-week cycle that sharpens clarity, documentation, and production without an exhibition or representation outcome.   Year-Long Residency 12 months (48 program weeks across four 12-week quarters). Rotating curators and artist advisors in weekly meetings with the cohort. Monthly 1:1 meetings. Culminates in a curated solo exhibition in our NYC gallery space the following year, with documentation, representation and Artsy presence (1–2 years). Alongside your solo exhibition outcome, the year builds a strong peer cohort and curator network that continues supporting your work. Approximately 10 artists per weekly group. Quarterly Thematic Residency 12 weeks (one quarter). No exhibition or representation outcome for a single quarter. Artists may continue into subsequent quarters through renewal. Theme-specific cohort + targeted deliverables. Quarterly residents also access this peer and curator network, joining the conversations of their chosen cohort. Outcome: clear statement, portfolio/docs, and 3–10 consistent works. Accommodation UAR is 100% online residency. Solo show in NYC can be managed remotely. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance Visual ArtsFees and support UAR combines the rigor of advanced study with the visibility and representation usually gained through gallery membership. We designed our funding structure to keep this level of engagement both sustainable and accessible.   Tuition • Year-long residency: $15,200 • Quarterly residency: $3,800   Enrollment Payment A 30% enrollment payment confirms your place after acceptance and is applied directly toward tuition.   Scholarships Up to two partial scholarships of 50% are available per quarter. Scholarships are awarded one quarter at a time and are available only through the quarterly residency pathway. Applicants applying directly to the full-year residency are not eligible for scholarship consideration. Full scholarships are not available.   Payment Plans We work case by case with accepted artists to make participation feasible. Installment plans are flexible and tailored to individual circumstances.
