Ongoing open call Deadline: 31 Dec 2026 Country: Argentina Fundación exACTa and cheLA are launching their residency program in Buenos Aires for artists, designers, researchers, and anyone interested in creative processes. Priority will be given to proposals focused on reflection, research, experimentation, and creation are valued, as are those that promote exchange among residents and connect with cheLA’s working nodes. Projects that explore movement, sound, site-specific practices, or those with a strong component of collective creativity or community participation are especially valued, though not exclusively. The program includes accommodation, workspace, activities, and support throughout the research and/or creative processes. Duration of residency The duration is flexible, but a one-month stay is recommended. Accommodation The residency offers single or double rooms in shared apartments. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance Applications are open to all disciplines. We are closer to installation art, sound art, performing arts, experimental processes, and research projects that require large-scale spaces.Studio / Workspace Shared workspaces are available. Studios ranging from 300 to 500 square meters are provided, depending on the requirements of the residency.Fees and support The basic monthly fee is US$1,000 (one thousand US dollars). This includes accommodation in a shared apartment, shared workspace, a basic set of tools and equipment (to be defined based on each applicant’s needs), and limited technical and artistic guidance.  Needs and conditions must be established prior to the residency to evaluate availability and feasibility.  The fee does not include meals, per diems or travel expenses, materials, tools or equipment (beyond those previously discussed), supplies, or personal documentation of the work.  Letters or notes of recommendation are available for those interested in applying for grants or funding from other institutions.  Access to equipped workshops with specific technical guidance is available for a fee of US$ 500 (five hundred US dollars).  cheLA has two equipped workshops: TaPeTe for sound-related work, and TaMaCo for working with materials such as wood and iron.  TaPeTe includes: musical instruments (piano, marimba, timpani) and sound equipment (speakers, interface, mixing console).  TaMaCo includes: laser cutter, CNC router, circular saw, drill, angle grinder, chop saw, and arc welder.  Subject to prior consultation and availability.  Expectations towards the artist Participants are welcome to propose any public activities they would like to carry out, should they wish to do so. Please include a description of your project, its specific requirements, and your requested dates (these can be exact or tentative). From there, we will begin a dialogue to evaluate availability and feasibility.  As this is an open call on a rolling basis, residency cycles will be organized according to the applicants’ interests and their availability.
