Located in the heart of Chiang Mai, our multi-story facility serves as a professional nexus for international and local creators, integrating studio practice, exhibition opportunities, and community exchange. Founded by an artist for artists, STUDIOS 94 provides the infrastructure and visibility necessary to elevate your practice within Thailand’s creative capital. CHIANG MAI: THE UNESCO CREATIVE CAPITAL A UNESCO Creative City, Chiang Mai is a global sanctuary for creators. The city offers a unique synergy between traditional heritage and contemporary institutions. From its specialized craft villages to its world-class contemporary institutions, Chiang Mai serves as a living laboratory for experimentation. It is a place where creative resources are accessible, and the environment is designed to nurture long-term artistic growth through a deep-rooted culture of making. PROGRAM OVERVIEW We offer two distinct tracks tailored to the needs of emerging and established practitioners across all disciplines, including fine arts, textiles, sculpture, and interdisciplinary research. 1. The Residency Program (2-Month Mandatory Cycle) A structured immersion combining research, production, and a group exhibition. Duration: 2 months (Month 1: Research/Practice; Month 2: Production/Exhibition). Accommodations: Private on-site bedroom (shared bathroom) with an integrated dedicated studio desk. Outcome: A culminating Residency Exhibition at 94 Gallery, inclusive of opening nights, an artist talk, and guided studio tours. 2026 Cycles: May–Jun | Jul–Aug | Sep–Oct | Nov–Dec. 2. The Studio Program (Monthly) A flexible, professional workspace for artists seeking focused production time and community integration. Duration: 1 to 9 months (commencing the 1st of each month). Workspace: A dedicated studio desk within our shared professional Artist Studio. Outcome: Participation in monthly Public Studio Showcases and community events. 2026 Availability: April through December. CORE PROVISIONS & AMENITIES All residents and studio members receive: Access: Daily studio access (9am–9pm) and use of shared workshop areas. Facilities: Full use of communal lounges, kitchen, and rooftop. Utilities: High-speed WiFi and electricity included. Maintenance: Monday–Saturday cleaning of all shared areas. Networking: Inclusion in the Community WhatsApp group, event invites, and social media promotion via STUDIOS 94 platforms. Professional Development: Eligibility to facilitate workshops; artist-rate discounts on Soft Touch Studio workshops. PROGRAM FEES & DEPOSIT POLICY Application Fee: Free Residency Program Fee (2-Month Total) International Artist: 69,000 THB (≈ 2,222 USD / ≈ 1,881 EUR) Local Artist: 41,400 THB (≈ 1,333 USD / ≈ 1,128 EUR) Covers the full 60-day residency cycle. Studio Program Fee (Per Month) International Artist: 12,500 THB (≈ 402 USD / ≈ 341 EUR) Local Artist: 7,500 THB (≈ 241 USD / ≈ 204 EUR) Covers one full calendar month. Deposit & Payment Confirmation: A 1-month deposit is required to secure your placement. Cancellation: The deposit is non-refundable in the event of cancellation. Refund: The deposit is returned within 14 days after checkout, provided there are no damages or outstanding fees. WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED Residency Program: Art materials, tools, or equipment. Meals, personal expenses, or private room cleaning. Travel costs, visa arrangements, or insurance (health, travel, artwork). Formal mentorship. Studio Program: Accommodation. Soft light, textured fabrics, and a private balcony overlooking Huay Kaew Road create a cozy yet inspiring atmosphere — ideal for artists who enjoy an urban view and natural light. - Shared bathroom (with one neighbouring bedroom) - Toilet + Bathtub + shower - Mango Bedroom - - 3rd Floor · Side Street Facing - A calm, blue-toned private bedroom studio designed for focus and clarity. Neutral accents and a dedicated workspace create a peaceful environment for long studio days. - Shared bathroom (with one neighbouring bedroom) - Toilet + Bathtub + shower - Rooftop View Bedroom - - 4th Floor · Top Floor - A cozy industrial-modern space in grey, beige, and chrome tones. The studio provides specialized infrastructure that integrates production, living, and exhibition within a cohesive site. Facilities include a street-facing contemporary gallery, a media studio for photography and movement, a shared open workshop equipped with essential materials for program members, and versatile rooftop terraces for events. By housing residency accommodations and individual desks alongside a ground-floor gallery and a dedicated reception team, the studio eliminates logistical friction, enabling both international and local practitioners to focus entirely on their work. The architecture of the facility encourages a seamless transition between private experimentation and public engagement. Artists utilize the communal kitchen, the mezzanine overlooking the gallery, and various balconies for reflection, while the street-level gallery and shop provide immediate visibility to the city. This self-contained environment supports a broad range of needs—from long-term rentals and on-site residencies to professional photography, community skill-sharing, and hobbyist workshops in the Soft Touch Studio. Located directly adjacent to a major art supply store, the facility ensures that technical and creative requirements are met within a few steps. Expectations towards the artist ARTIST POLICY STUDIOS 94 · Chiang Mai, Thailand This policy applies to all artists participating in any capacity at STUDIOS 94, including Residency Artists, Studio Program Artists, Members, Short- and Long-Term Studio Renters, Visiting Artists, and External Exhibition, Workshops or Event Hosts. - Application & Selection - Application requirements vary by program and open call. - Certain opportunities may include a non-refundable application fee, clearly stated in the listing. - Selection is portfolio-based and curated. - Submission or payment of an application fee does not guarantee acceptance. 2.Acceptance & Payment - Placement is confirmed only upon written acceptance and receipt of required payment within 7 days. - Fees must be paid in full according to the respective program structure. - Security deposits are required where applicable. - Placement is competitive and secured exclusively upon payment confirmation. 3.Fees & Deposits - Residency Program: Full program fee due upon acceptance + 1-month security deposit. - Studio Program: First month due upon acceptance + 1-month security deposit. - Short-term rentals and event hires: Full fee payable in advance; deposit may apply.   Deposits: - Held against damage, unpaid fees, or policy violations. - Returned within 14 days after checkout following inspection. - Non-refundable in cases of cancellation, visa denial, travel disruption, or voluntary   withdrawal. 4.Cancellations & Early Departure - Program fees are non-refundable once a cycle has commenced. - Early departure does not qualify for partial reimbursement. - STUDIOS 94 reserves the right to terminate participation without refund in cases of rule    violations, illegal activity, abusive or discriminatory conduct, property damage, or     misrepresentation.   5.Studio Use & Conduct All artists agree to: - Respect shared spaces and fellow artists. - Maintain professional behaviour at all times. - Follow house rules regarding noise, cleanliness, safety, and shared equipment. - Refrain from discriminatory, racist, homophobic, or abusive behaviour. - Comply with all posted safety guidelines. Drugs, illegal substances, and unsafe conduct are strictly prohibited. 6.Artwork & Materials - Artists are responsible for their own materials, tools, and equipment unless otherwise stated. - STUDIOS 94 is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings or artworks. - Artists must maintain safe working practices and avoid damaging property. 7.Exhibition & Sales - A 30% commission applies to artworks sold during official exhibitions, artist showcases, events and workshops hosted by STUDIOS 94 unless otherwise agreed in writing. - Payment to artists is processed after buyer payment has cleared. - Artists are responsible for pricing clarity and accuracy of artwork information. - Independent private sales conducted outside official programming remain the responsibility    of the artist. 8.Legal & Visa Responsibility - Artists are solely responsible for complying with Thai law, including visa status, income regulations, tax obligations, and work permissions. - STUDIOS 94 assumes no responsibility for violations of local law committed by participating    artists.   9.Media, Documentation & Promotion By participating in any program or activity at STUDIOS 94, artists grant STUDIOS 94 permission to: - Photograph and film artworks, installations, studios, exhibitions, events, and shared spaces. - Photograph and film participating artists within the premises during working hours, exhibitions, events, open studios, and public programming. - Use images and video for promotional, archival, press, educational, and marketing    purposes across websites, social media, newsletters, press releases, and printed materials. If an artist does not wish to be photographed individually, they must notify management in writing prior to program commencement.   10.Program Commitment By confirming participation, artists acknowledge: - They are financially prepared to complete the full program cycle. - They understand the shared nature of the entire studio building. - They agree to uphold professional and community standards.
