Residency Applications Deadline: 07 Dec 2035 Country: Iceland Rolling open call – open year round. Duration of residency Mininum stay is 1 week. Accommodation Artists stay in a private room within a shared three-bedroom apartment. The apartment offers a comfortable and welcoming living environment, with shared common facilities that provide opportunities for informal exchange and connection between resident artists. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance The residency welcomes artists working across all disciplines and offers a flexible environment for research, reflection and the development of new work. Dedicated studio spaces are available to guests staying in Rooms 01 and 02, while desk-based workspaces are provided in all three residency rooms. The residency does not provide specialized tools, technical equipment or production materials. Artists are therefore encouraged to bring or arrange any specific equipment and materials required for their practice. The residency team is available to offer general guidance and help artists connect with relevant local resources and networks where possible.Studio / Workspace Rooms 01 and 02 each include access to a dedicated studio space. Together, the two studios have a total area of approximately 45 m². The studios are divided by a partial wall, creating two distinct work areas while maintaining some openness and connection between the spaces. As a result, the studios are semi-private rather than fully enclosed.Fees and support Residency fees are set by the Municipality of Akureyri and are charged per week. Room 01: • 1 person: ISK 39,300 per week • 2 persons: ISK 47,600 per week Room 02: • 1 person: ISK 36,300 per week • 2 persons: ISK 43,500 per week Room 03: • 1 person: ISK 31,000 per week • 2 persons: ISK 38,300 per week Please note that fees may be subject to change in accordance with the Municipality of Akureyri’s official fee schedule. Expectations towards the artist Public presentations, artist talks, exhibitions and workshops are optional and are not a requirement of the residency. Resident artists are welcome to discuss possible public activities or ways of sharing their work with the residency team during their stay. Application information Applications should be submitted by email to residency@listak.is. Please include: • A brief description of your artistic practice and what you intend to work on or explore during the residency. • A current CV. • A portfolio of recent work, submitted as a PDF or as a link to a website or online portfolio. Please send all written documents in PDF format. To keep applications manageable by email, we recommend a maximum total attachment size of 5-10 MB. Applications are reviewed by the residency team based on availability, the applicant’s artistic practice and the nature of the proposed stay. Applicants will be contacted directly regarding the outcome of their application and, if selected, to discuss possible residency dates.
