About the ARCAthens Residency Founded in 2017, ARCAthens is a nonprofit organization supporting international cultural exchange through its Athens Residency Fellowships. The program provides opportunities for artists, curators, and scholars to conduct research, develop professional relationships, and engage with contemporary artistic activity in Greece. The residency brings fellows into contact with artists, curators, institutions, and collections through a coordinated program of visits, meetings, and conversations. These engagements may include artist studios, private collections, cultural institutions, and encounters with the city’s civic and historical contexts. ARCAthens designs and facilitates the residency schedule. Fellows are expected to participate in core activities, remain based in Athens throughout the program, and contribute to a public engagement event. The residency combines organized professional encounters with periods of independent exploration and research.
