ÆTHOS X LAB — INTERNATIONAL CHOREOGRAPHIC EXCHANGE 3rd Edition | Open Call for Contemporary Dance Choreographers Where: Taranto, Italy When: February 15 – 21, 2027 Deadline for applications: October 31, 2026 Euthopia is inviting contemporary dance choreographers to join the company for a 5-days residency in Italy, from 15 to 19 February 2027. During the residency, the selected choreographer will work with Euthopia’s dancers to create a new choreographic work, which will be presented in a public performance on 20 or 21 February 2027. This year’s edition offers two collaboration options: OPTION 1 – PAID RESIDENCY The selected choreographer will receive: * €700 artistic fee * Accommodation for the duration of the residency * Travel/transfer expenses to and from Italy * 5 days of studio work with Euthopia’s dancers * Public presentation of the resulting work OPTION 2 — RECIPROCAL RESIDENCY EXCHANGE For the first time, Æthos X Lab introduces a reciprocal choreographic exchange. Instead of a monetary fee, the selected choreographer will: * Join Euthopia for the 5-days residency in Italy; * Create a new work with Euthopia’s dancers; * Present the work in a public performance. Following the residency, Euthopia will be invited to the selected artist’s company or organization for a corresponding residency, where the artistic director will create a new work with the host company’s dancers. The resulting work will also be presented in a public performance. Travel, accommodation and production arrangements for the reciprocal residency will be agreed upon by the two organizations in advance. How to apply: WHO CAN APPLY We welcome applications from emerging and established contemporary dance choreographers, both independent artists and choreographers working with professional companies. Applicants should have previous experience in contemporary dance and choreographic creation, together with a strong artistic identity and an interest in collaborative processes.
