Silent Conversations | Towards Winter Program Aug 26, 2026 | Dance Programs A three week Creative Laboratory of Deep Listening through Dance Improvisation, Poetry and Performance laboratory with Sasha Dodo and Dolores Dewhurst-Marks. Where: Chiang Dao, Northern Thailand When: 1 – 21 December 2026 Deadline for applications: 20 November 2026 An invitation to craft clarity and spaciousness for the art of living life as a unique creative act, a gift for others and a mystery beyond time. For those motivated to study improvisation, deepen their listening, and practice responding creatively to subtle and radical change on the dance floor and in the wider context of their lives. The program offers an inquiry-based experimental learning environment reflecting the spirit of Contact Improvisation, approaching it as a transformative practice and cutting edge art form. We will be composing while improvising through making dances in solo, duo and ensemble both in the studio and in the surrounding natural environment. Sensitizing our curiosity and intuition towards how things are being made; discovering our inner sense of beauty and questioning the nature of our compositional, relational and collaborative preferences. In this program the improviser’s daily routine will include practices focused on reclaiming and sustaining open attention and enhancing poetic availability for what is present, emerging and hidden. There will be elements of Yoga and Aikido, contemplative practices in nature, whirling meditation, writing and sharing with others.
