Through programming that includes artistic residencies, exhibitions and public programmes, Ses12naus seeks to drive social change and expand the cultural identity of the island. Through this Balearic and European call, Ses12naus fosters artistic mobility and exchange between different contexts, while supporting the trajectories of artists and curators at any stage of their career. The programme aims to favour artistic production and the generation of new critical perspectives. To this end, it provides the time, space and resources necessary to develop a new project or to give continuity to an ongoing one. Its two-phase format opens a space for reflection, and accompanies the evolution of the projects from initial immersion to subsequent production. Ses12naus is launching a two-phase residency programme, aimed at: - Two visual artists or curators based in the Balearic Islands. - Two visual artists or curators based in Spain or Europe. The residency will take place across two seasons (2026 and 2027) and consists of two phases: - Phase 1: from 21 November to 13 December 2026 (3 weeks) - Phase 2: from 17 May to 7 June 2027 (3 weeks) Between the two phases, the Foundation's team will maintain active follow-up with the project in order to support the resident in the conceptualisation and formalisation of their proposal. The first phase of the residency will be dedicated to research and exploration of the territory, allowing participants to gain an in-depth understanding of the local context. In this first period, the residents will be required to carry out a public activity linked to their process. During the second phase, they will return to the island to carry out their proposals: artists will produce their works, curators will give continuity to their research, and both will present the results of the project. This framework allows participants to connect meaningfully with the island of Ibiza and its communities, and to develop — or expand — a project in dialogue with its context. The workspace at La Carpintería, the Foundation's creation centre, is located in the industrial area of Can Bufí, near the city of Ibiza. The centre welcomes creators from various disciplines. This call is open to visual artists and curators residing in Ibiza, the Balearic Islands, Spain and Europe. There is no age limit. For the 2026–2027 edition, four projects will be selected: two from the Balearic Islands, one from the rest of Spain, and one from another European country. Funding: - Honoraria: Each resident will receive a financial grant of €1,800 as fees (€900 per phase). Additionally, a remuneration of €300 will be paid for the public activity carried out within the framework of the residency. All these amounts will be subject to the corresponding taxes and withholdings. - Travel expenses: Up to €330 (€165 per phase) for participants from Spain and up to €770 (€385 per phase) for participants from other European countries. The Foundation will handle the bookings. No additional travel or visits to the island between Phase 1 and Phase 2 will be admitted or financed from the assigned production budget. Any travel outside the official residency periods must be fully covered by the resident. - Production expenses: Artists: up to €3,000 for the production and public presentation, including transport of the work if necessary. In addition, the Foundation will cover up to €500 of installation expenses related to the final public presentation, and up to €200 of expenses associated with the public activities. Curators: the Foundation will cover up to €500 for expenses related to the final presentation, and up to €200 for expenses related to the public activity. Fundación Ses12naus will also provide the selected candidates with the following resources: - Accommodation: a private bedroom with a private bathroom for exclusive use by each resident, as well as a shared kitchen and living room. - Workspace at La Carpintería, the Foundation's centre for creation: the dimensions of the workspace and the furniture will be defined according to the needs of the project. The technical resources available include projectors, speakers, machinery, tools and other equipment. Any specific tool, machinery or material that is not part of La Carpintería's current inventory must be brought or purchased directly by the resident, financed with their assigned production budget. - Production assistance: to cover any potential needs of the public activities and presentations. - Transportation: a shared car available throughout the stay. A valid driving licence is required. - Airport transfers. The application is online, with a deadline for submitting applications is 30 September 2026, at 23:59 (CET).
