The Risk of Dancing Intensive Jul 23, 2026 | Intensives Intensive practices in Movement/Dance studies and artistic creation emerging from the desire of considering what is this becoming Body that unfolds from tuning with the state of dance. Where: Centro em movimento, Lisbon, Portugal When: from 12 october to 18 december Deadline for applications: 30 september, 2026 c.e.m has dedicated its existence to the research in the studies of the Body, Movement and the Common through the encounter with the unknown, with the great Nothing that nourishes everything. We can not be Body alone! The journey side-by-side between each c.e.m researcher is precious and fundamental in the tuning of each step and with the symphony of steps that is making itself present. We are not interested in formulas, closed methodologies, or the snobbery of “I already know”. The arrogance of claiming a place of belonging that is called “dance” inhibits the liquidity of the experience of dance as a poetry of the gesture that is born only in the experience of being-with, every day. It is necessary to walk in order to walk, to ask in order to ask, to write in order to write, to dance in order to dance, to exist in order to exist … that is what we are and we do every day. It is amazing how fast we humans go from a discovery, a tilt, a breath, a restlessness to a trivialized, “certainty” free from vibration. It is impressive how many discourses around Body that were never allowed to move through deformation, through questioning. It’s amazing how much you say Body without being body. We certainly do not bring with the Risk of Dancing the solution to these insistences of human behavior, but we bring the rigor of the daily practice of becoming Body. How to apply: All applications are a process of meeting and conversation that consists in the very exercise of “risking” considering an ongoing and open path.
