MiSHŌ Open call : Creative Stay in the mountainous Fujino Deadline: 01 Nov 2026 Country: Japan Creative Stay runs during two seasons, winter and summer, for a minimum duration of one week. Open call on the summer period will be announced separately at a later date. During the quiet yet mostly sunny and dry winter months in Fujino, Creative Stay will provide a minimalist structure of our MiSHŌ residency with the invitation for residents to connect with the local environment on their own terms without obligations. The main purpose of the Creative Stay is to be a base dedicated to independent research, experimentation, development of projects, and contemplation. It is ideal for creatives who prefer complete independence and don’t need organizational support or coordination. Residents are not expected to hold any public events or workshops. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until positions are filled. Duration of residency Starting from 1 week, the dates in winter are between 2026 December 16th and 2027 March 17th. Please note that we may prioritize longer stays. Accommodation Accommodation is a private residential house with a spacious garden. It is conveniently located in the centre of Fujino main village, Hizure, with a proximity to the local community and essential amenities such as train station, supermarket, couple of restaurants/coffee shops and a post office. Fujino train station provides a direct connection to central Tokyo (60min), making it an option for those who wish access to the city while maintaining a base in nature.  Each resident will have a private room with shared communal areas on the 1st (ground) floor : • two tatami floor studios (27㎡ in total) • kitchen/dining room • bathroom • toilet (additional toilet on the second floor) For photos of the spaces, check our website.
