OPEN CALL I MÉXICO CITY Art Week Season Residency l January-February 2027 Deadline: 05 Sep 2026 Country: Mexico Estudio Chapulín is an artist residency in Mexico City built around time, space, and exchange. We believe meaningful artistic practice needs room to slow down, experiment, and evolve. Our residency offers artists a supportive environment to focus on their work while becoming part of a temporary community of peers, conversations, and shared processes. During this 5-week Winter Season, which coincides with Mexico City Art Week, residents experience one of the most dynamic periods in the city’s art calendar while developing their own practice. Through studio visits, informal gatherings, and an Open Studio, we encourage dialogue, connection, and thoughtful exchange. Duration of residency 5 weeks Accommodation Private accommodation Disciplines, work equipment and assistance The residency does not include mandatory group workshops or a fixed schedule. Each artist is free to define their own rhythm and focus, while the Chapulín team offers personalized support to help connect with relevant people, spaces, or resources.Each residency period concludes with an optional presentation of the work developed (open studio or more intimate format), inviting cultural agents, fellow artists, and the general public.Studio / Workspace There are two options: individual study or shared study.Fees and support The fee ranges from 36-00 to 38,000 MXN, depending on the type of residency chosen. Expectations towards the artist Each residency period concludes with an optional presentation of the work developed (open studio or more intimate format), inviting cultural agents, fellow artists, and the general public.
