OPEN CALL – HAPPENING UNDER VESUVIO Call for Performative Actions & Ritual-Based Works/actions Deadline: 31 Dec 2026 Country: Italy OPEN CALL – HAPPENING UNDER VESUVIO Call for Performative Actions & Ritual-Based Works/actions KULTURSCIOK invites artists, performers, and cross-disciplinary creators to take part in the next edition of Happening Under Vesuvio, an international performance gathering set at the foot of the volcano, in the heart of Southern Italy. We are seeking performative actions that resonate with the concept of the ritual as a transformative, political, or poetic act—works that can become part of a shared experience and respond to the unique context of Happening Under Vesuvio. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR We welcome proposals that: • Embody ritualistic or ceremonial dimensions in performance; • Engage with themes such as memory, fire, rebirth, collective energy, resistance, myth, and the sacred; • Can be adapted or reimagined in dialogue with the cultural and physical landscape of KulturFactory (Naples, Italy); • Encourage interaction, improvisation, or site-specific experimentation. This is not a traditional showcase format. Selected artists will bring their own material, and together with the curatorial team, we will ritualize the performance—embedding it within the evolving dramaturgy of the event. This is a collaborative invitation to weave your vision into a collective ceremonial happening. WE OFFER • Artistic and curatorial dialogue to integrate your action within the ritual frame; • A shared creative space at KulturFactory (Naples) during the dates of the event • Technical and production support (based on the nature of the project); • Visibility within the international program of Happening Under Vesuvio. Please note: this is a low-budget, artist-driven context. We can provide letters of invitation and support for funding applications.
