Visual Artists – Open Call for October 2026_Ecovillage_ Andalusia Deadline: 01 Sep 2026 Country: Spain REC.ON Residence in Ecovillage is a space where art merges with nature and ecology, and a peaceful rhythm of life fosters creative work. It’s also a place for meetings, inspiration, and the exchange of experiences with other residents and hosts, who are also artists and artisans. The residence is located in an ecovillage of a restored old goat farm, surrounded by mountain views and year-round Andalusian sunshine. It’s a place where you can find the peace and focus necessary for creativity while becoming part of an inspiring and eco community. What artists will find at the Residence: – Private rooms – single or double, in a restored Andalusian co-living apartment. – Peace and quiet close to nature – the perfect place for writing, painting, and designing. – Workspace within the building (painting studio, coworking space in the Art Gallery and at the foot of the mountains: – Permaculture garden – with a workspace surrounded by organic vegetables and mountain views. – Installation on a wooden platform – a unique space for creation, relaxation, and meditation. – Workshop with tools for basic wood and metal processing, as well as creative recycling of waste. – On-site attractions: communal meals – breakfasts six times a week, regular cultural events: presentations, concerts, bonfires, and an eco-sauna (in winter). – Optional meetings with Andalusian artists – including visits to their studios. – The hospitality and care of the hosts, Paulina and Bart – artisans and artists creating design and projects from recycled materials. – Homemade breakfasts made with organic produce from the garden, served with delicious espresso coffee on the patio – a perfect, inspiring start to the day. – Mountain hikes starting directly at the Residence. – Weekly Saturday excursion to the local market in Vélez-Rubio, authentic andalusian pueblo. Final presentation – arranged individually at the end of the stay. We will organize an exhibition of works and texts created during the Residence at the REC.ON Gallery. Duration of residency We accept applications all year round!  Residency length: 4 weeks Sessions: August 2026 Accommodation Coliving rooms: Single or double rooms Common spaces: living room, fully equipped kitchen with kitchen with fireplace, bathroom, toillet Price included: Stay at private single- or double-occupancy room in the coliving rural house Morning delicious coffee from the coffee machine+ homemade breakfast with vegetables from the organic garden (6 times per week) Access to ART & Design Gallery on site, exhibition and co-working space, shared with other residents Access to the workshop space (arranged individually) Access to common areas (equipped kitchen, living room, chillout areas and art installations on the grounds, permaculture garden) Access to Organic Garden on-site Residence bills, STARLINK wifi, free access to laundry facilities Regular cultural events on-site – live concerts, DJ sets, bonfires, culinary workshops, team games, thematic meetings. Visit to the historic city of Velez Rubio, sightseeing, local mercado and cultural attractions Disciplines, work equipment and assistance studio, Coworking space in the Private Gallery on siteStudio / Workspace Artists have access to a painting studio in the building, a creative space in the Art Gallery, and special places prepared in the natural surroundings at the foot of the mountains.Fees and support 1 person /4 weeks / 700 EUR/ single room 2 persons/ 4 weeks/ 1288 EUR/ double room Expectations towards the artist optional Application information The open call for artist residencies is open to painters, visual artists, illustrators, and interdisciplinary artists. We welcome artists from a variety of fields.
