ORBITAL Open Call 2026 – A Residency for Students (Dunja Jocic Foundation) Sep 22, 2026 | Residencies One sentence description: ORBITAL is a residency program created by the Dunja Jocić Foundation, designed to give young and developing dance makers the opportunity to take their first steps in creating and presenting their own choreographic work, resulting in an evening presentation of approximately one hour. Where: Amsterdam, The Netherlands When: October-November 2026 Deadline for applications: 30 September 2026 ORBITAL is a residency program created by the Dunja Jocić Foundation, designed to give young and developing dance makers the opportunity to take their first steps in creating and presenting their own choreographic work, resulting in an evening presentation of approximately one hour. How to apply: Over the course of thirteen days, a selected maker studying dance or choreography in Amsterdam will explore a choreographic idea around a given theme under the artistic guidance of Dunja Jocić. The residency will result in a public evening presentation of approximately one hour, hosted and organized by the ORBITAL residency team. The maker will curate the evening, presenting their own work alongside works of other invited makers. Orbital is open to students in dance or choreography based in Amsterdam. Students with a strong artistic interest, clear idea, or research direction that they would like to develop during the residency are encouraged to apply. For this edition of ORBITAL, candidates are invited to submit a choreographic idea around one of the following themes: Polarization, Identity and belonging, or Rituals. Candidates are encouraged to approach the theme they choose broadly and through their own perspective and practice.
