TERRA, a place to create, connect and slow down — rooted in nature, place and community Deadline: 20 Dec 2026 Country: Argentina A different kind of residency TERRA is a small-scale physical residency for one artist at a time, created for those looking for space, quiet and meaningful connection with their surroundings. Located approximately 45 km from Buenos Aires City, in a semi-rural community surrounded by nature and a growing network of local producers, artists and cultural initiatives, TERRA offers an opportunity to step away from the pace of everyday life and immerse yourself in a different rhythm. Here, artistic practice becomes part of the experience of inhabiting a place: observing its landscape, discovering its ecosystem, meeting its people and finding inspiration in everyday life. Duration of residency You can stay from 2 weeks to 3 months. Accommodation At the heart of TERRA is a private tiny house, designed to host one artist in residence. The space includes: A comfortable sleeping area A small workspace A fully equipped kitchen Private indoor and outdoor areas A small private pool Wi-Fi and utilities Access to a surrounding garden and outdoor creative space Disciplines, work equipment and assistance The tiny house is particularly suited to artists whose practices can be developed through writing, painting, drawing, photography, research, mixed media and other small- to medium-scale forms of work. The surrounding outdoor space offers room to experiment, observe, work and freely express ideas in connection with the landscape.Fees and support March – November 15 days — USD 1,100 1 month — USD 1,600 2 months — USD 1,500/month 3 months — USD 1,300/month December – February 15 days — USD 1,400 1 month — USD 2,100 2 months — USD 1,900/month 3 months — USD 1,700/month A refundable security deposit is required. Booking and payment terms are confirmed according to the selected dates and length of stay. The residency fee includes: Private accommodation in the TERRA tiny house Private outdoor area and small swimming pool Electricity and running water Safe drinking water Wi-Fi Bed linens and towels, with weekly replacement Weekly cleaning Weekly laundry service (one basket per week) Organic personal care and basic household products Support and guidance to help the artist connect with the local community and environment Optional Services Additional services are available at an extra cost, including: Weekly organic food baskets Daily meal plans Monthly bicycle rental Immersive nature experiences The artist must cover a medical insurance. Expectations towards the artist For residencies of more than one month, artists are expected to host a small open studio at the residency space, inviting a limited number of members of the local community. This informal gathering is an opportunity for the artist to share their creative process and experience during the residency, and for the local community to connect with the artist and their work. The open studio takes place in the private outdoor area of the tiny house and is intended as a relaxed exchange rather than a formal exhibition. For 15-day residencies, an open studio is not required. Motivation letter A brief letter explaining why you would like to undertake a residency at TERRA, what you hope to explore during your stay, and why this environment is relevant to your artistic practice. 3. Project proposal or idea A description of the project, research, or artistic exploration you would like to develop during your residency. You do not need to begin a new project specifically for TERRA. You may continue an existing project or explore an idea that is already in progress. You can share some first sketches. The proposal does not need to be fully developed. We are interested in understanding what you would like to work on and how you imagine using the time and environment at TERRA. 4. Preferred dates and duration Please indicate your approximate preferred dates and the length of your stay (from 15 days to 3 months). 5. Additional information Please mention any specific needs, materials, equipment, or working conditions that may be relevant to your project. Selection process Applications are reviewed based on the artist’s practice, motivation, proposed project or area of exploration, and the overall fit with TERRA and its environment. Shortlisted artists may be invited to a brief online conversation before the final selection.
