Gullö Gård Artist Residency – a residency by Skogshyddan AIR Deadline: 30 Nov 2026 Country: Finland The residency programme at Slöjdstugan, Gullö Gård, offers visual artists and writers an opportunity to focus on their creative practice in the peaceful surroundings of a historic manor estate in the Finnish archipelago near Tammisaari (Ekenäs), Finland. Gullö Gård Artist Residency operates under the international artist and researcher residency programme Skogshyddan AIR. Skogshyddan AIR is responsible for the artistic curation, coordination, artist selection, application process and the planning of the spring exhibition. Gullö Gård provides the physical setting for the residency, including accommodation at Slöjdstugan. Through this collaboration, Skogshyddan AIR expands its international residency activities to additional locations and inspiring working environments in the Raasepori region. A distinctive feature of the programme is the presentation of selected works created during the winter and spring residency periods in a curated group exhibition at Gullö Gård in May. The exhibition will take place in the manor’s main hall and café, coinciding with the blooming of the manor’s famous daffodil woodland, when the estate opens its doors to visitors. Duration of residency 1-2 weeks Accommodation The residency fee includes accommodation at Slöjdstugan and participation in the residency programme curated by Skogshyddan AIR. Slöjdstugan is a fully equipped holiday house accommodating up to six people. It provides comfortable living facilities and a peaceful environment for independent creative work. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance The residency provides a peaceful environment for independent artistic work, offering participants the opportunity to concentrate on their creative processes. Applications are welcome from individual artists and writers. Interdisciplinary approaches and collaborations between different creative disciplines are also encouraged.Studio / Workspace Please note: No separate atelier, studio or dedicated workspace is available as part of the residency. Participants should therefore be prepared to work independently within the accommodation or bring their own portable working equipment and materials. The residency is particularly suitable for artists and writers whose practice allows them to work in a residential setting without requiring specialised studio facilities.Fees and support Residency Fees 1 week 500 € 2 weeks 600 € Expectations towards the artist Expectations and Participation Residents are expected to actively engage in their creative practice during their stay and respect the peaceful surroundings of Gullö Gård. As part of the residency programme, participants are expected to: – Submit at least one work for consideration for the curated group exhibition in May 2027. – Provide a short artist biography, portfolio and documentation of their work. – Cooperate with Skogshyddan AIR in exhibition planning and residency communication. – Allow their residency and creative work to be documented and presented through Skogshyddan AIR’s communication channels, with appropriate artist credit. Final exhibition selections are made by Skogshyddan AIR. Please note that there are no public transportation, so car is needed!! Application information Applicants should submit: – A short biography and introduction to their artistic practice. – A portfolio or examples of previous work. – A brief description of their plans and intentions for the residency. – Their preferred residency dates and duration. – An indication of how their work could potentially contribute to the May exhibition. We welcome applications from both established and emerging artists and writers. Interdisciplinary practices and international perspectives are particularly welcome.
