Embellie. Generations: inventing ways of living together Deadline: 01 Oct 2026 Country: Luxembourg Generations: Reinventing Community Life The 2027 edition of ‘Embellie’ celebrates the coming together of generations. How do we live, eat, share stories, celebrate, laugh and cry together? What can we learn from our elders, our peers and the younger generation? How can previous or future generations influence our understanding of the world, art, our heritage and our culture? How are different generations encouraged to engage in dialogue with one another? How can we rethink the way we live together? ‘Embellie’ is a celebration of artists in residence, spanning the visual arts to the performing arts, including music, dance, literature, and theatre. We invite artists from all disciplines to present their vision of this intergenerational encounter during a two-week residency in February at neimënster. At the end of this initial residency, a jury will meet to decide which project(s) will be awarded an additional production budget of €1,500 and a one-week residency in July, with a public presentation on 27, 28 and 29 July. Applicants must be available for both periods. Proposals from all disciplines are welcome. Background As part of the ‘Embellie’ festival, neimënster celebrates the artistic creations resulting from a year of artist residencies. In a joyful and festive atmosphere, the public is invited to discover performances, music, readings, exhibitions and artists’ workshops across the entire neimënster site (from the main building to the Parvis, via the Robert Bruch building). Duration of residency 2 weeks plus a public showing 27, 28 and 29 July 2027 during the Embellie festival at neimënster (if selected after the residency) Accommodation Private accommodation (incl. bathroom and small kitchen) Disciplines, work equipment and assistance The residency is open to all artistic disciplines. The artists can by assisted by our technical team if necessary, but they should work independently. Please note that our institution is a heritage site and not all work is possible.Studio / Workspace 40m2 studio space Please note that our studio spaces do not allow large, non-modular, sculptural work (which cannot fit through one-metre-wide doors).
