Cultivarte

Tropical Art Retreat Open Call Deadline: 31 Dec 2026 Country: Colombia Escape to Cultivarte, our mango farm and retreat center nestled in Colombia’s countryside, and join our art residency program. Embrace the tranquility of nature as you work on your art. You can also immerse yourself in Colombia’s rural culture by hiking, taking river walks, and exploring the surrounding area. Don’t forget to cool off in our natural swimming pool. Join local community projects, participate in farm activities like yoga classes, and let your creativity flow in this inspiring environment. We provide space for artists to work independently, managing their own time and creative work, while also offering them the general services, activities, and spaces of Cultivarte. These include yoga classes, the use of the swimming pool and the sunset pool, and three vegetarian daily meals from Monday to Friday. On the weekends, artists can either eat in the restaurants in the nearby town (20 minutes by public transportation), or we can connect them with local cooks who can prepare and deliver meals to the farm. In case we are hosting a retreat, some of the facilities could be used in coordination with the retreat facilitators (through the host). The retreats take place on the weekends. Artists can choose between private and shared accommodation. Duration of residency 2 weeks to 3 months (with the option to extend up to 3 months). Accommodation We offer private and shared accommodations, including options with double beds and private bathrooms. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance Cultivarte welcomes artists from a wide range of disciplines, including sculpture, painting, drawing, dance, theater, performance art, music, literature, film, architecture, educational projects, photography, installation art, ceramics, crafts, and interdisciplinary practices.Studio / Workspace Maloka Studio: A 90 m² circular studio with a high palm-thatched roof, surrounded by lush nature and accompanied by the soothing sound of a nearby stream. We provide three vegetarian meals per day, Monday through Friday, and ask that residents clean up after themselves following each meal. Artists are welcome to participate in community projects, workshops, or exhibitions, although participation is entirely optional. Residents are expected to maintain their workspace in reasonable condition, keeping it organized at the end of each workday, and to ensure that no damage is caused to the facilities.
