2026 Residency spaces available Deadline: 30 Sep 2026 Country: Spain This residency offers artists the chance to immerse themselves in their practice while experiencing the rich cultural heritage of Andalusia. The serene mountain setting, combined with proximity to the Mediterranean, creates an ideal environment for creative exploration and artistic development. The intimate scale of the program, with just two artists in residence, fosters meaningful artistic exchange while ensuring ample space for individual work. Polopos is a charming white village nestled at 800 meters altitude in the province of Granada in Spain, offering breathtaking views overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. This unique setting provides both the tranquility of mountain life and inspiring coastal vistas. Duration of residency 2 to 12 weeks Accommodation * The accommodations are located on the floor above where the hosts live * Private living quarters with private bathroom and toilet * Shared kitchen facilities and living room (shared with one other resident artist) * Each room has its own outside space * High-speed fiber WiFi connection * Air conditioning and heating * All utilities included * We own a 3,5 ha vineyard 300 meters above the village with stunning views. Our artists are free to go there to work and/or relax Disciplines, work equipment and assistance We welcome applications from artists working in all mediums and look forward to supporting your creative journey in this inspiring location. Each artist will have their own private studio space to work in.We are happy to help establish connections with cultural institutions or artists in the area and with our background in art education and philosophy, we enjoy exchanging ideas with our artists.Studio / Workspace Dedicated studio space for your artistic practice. The studio´s are located next to each other on the top floor of a two story building 300 meters from the accommodation. The floor has a private entrance. Artists can use easels, desks, brushes and paint left by previous residing artists. There is a shared kitchenette with a fridge, a microwave and a coffee machine. Each studio has its own toilet and a music installation.Fees and support If an artist wishes to work on a portfolio without any obligations during his or her stay, this is possible for €300 per two weeks. Partners are welcome for an additional €75 per week. Expectations towards the artist If an artist bears the costs of his or her stay, there are no obligations. However, it may help your application if you are willing to give a presentation or hold an exhibition. While we welcome applications from all artists, we’d like to share some insights about what we typically look for to help guide your application. Please note that none of these are absolute requirements – we encourage all artists to apply regardless of background or practice. These guidelines simply offer insight into what has worked well in our village setting: * Quality of artistic work is our primary consideration * Spanish language skills are helpful for connecting with our welcoming local community * Our village neighbors are wonderfully open-minded, and we tend to favor art that resonates with or is accessible to the local community * Flexibility with arrival and departure dates is appreciated * We find residencies of 2 weeks to 2 months work particularly well * Having a car is strongly advised due to the village’s mountain location. Application information As you will become part of our small mountain community, we’d like to introduce you properly to our village neighbors. Please submit your application as a single A4 page (physical or digital format) that includes: * A brief personal introduction telling us about yourself * An artist statement describing your practice * What you hope to achieve or work on during your residency * A photo of yourself * If applicable, a photo of one of your artworks This format allows us to share your introduction with the local community and helps everyone get to know you before your arrival. Besides the above, you are allowed to share more pictures of your work or links to your website or other online representations.We accept applications in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German and Dutch. Following our initial review, selected applicants will be invited to a Zoom call where we can meet each other personally and ensure we’re a good mutual fit.
