NON TOXIC PRINTMAKING IN PATAGONIA – Summer Residencies Deadline: 17 Aug 2026 Country: Argentina Our artist-in residence programs are designed to provide a creative and supportive environment for printmakers from all over the world who seek to immerse themselves in an atmosphere surrounded by forest and mountains that vary their colors during the four seasons of the year. We distinguish ourselves by motivating and accompanying both those who are just starting out and those who are more experienced with a contemporary approach aimed at aesthetic and technological experimentation we specialize ourselves in sustainable less toxic techniques. We are located in Villa Los Coihues, a neighborhood that maintains mountain town traditions that allow you to move around calmly and lead a simple and uncomplicated life. You will be able to connect with landscapes and sensations that will expand the perception of your senses. You will find trails that will take you around the lake, centuries-old Coihues forests, a waterfall, and viewpoints on San Martín Hill. The studio is 40 minutes by bus from the city of Bariloche, characterized by its traditional chocolate and craft beer and its varied cuisine. Duration of residency From two weeks or a month. For longer stays we should discuss the work plan beforehand. Accommodation Accomodation for one ot two people available. 24-hour access to the printmaking studio located on the ground floor of the dormitory. The bedroom/study with bathroom is located on the upper floor of the studio and is accessed via a staircase. We have a double bed where two can sleep well. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance We offer technical support and share our professional experience and facilities working together with those who visit us. Our programs are aimed at visual artists, graphic designers, graphic artists, printmakers, art students. We have different plans to offer. They differ according to the chosen working modality. This depends on the prior knowledge and needs of the resident artist: → Self-Directed → Guided Specialization → Basic Training The printmaking studio has an etching press with a 50 cm wide plate. We have supplies and equipment to develop the following techniques: - Monoprints - Linocut and its variants - Mokuhanga (woodcarving with water-soluble pigments) - Etching and aquatint with salt mordants - Polyester plate lithography or pronto plate litography - Photolithography with offset plates - Lithgraphy on recycled aluminium plates with citric acid (lemon juice) - Tetra pack engraving or green engraving - Blind embossing - Collagraph - CyanotipeStudio / Workspace The printmaking studio is located on the ground floor and occupies an area of 13 m2. It has an etching press with a 50 cm wide plate. On the upper floor is the bedroom, which also has a large table for drawing and working on your computer. The printmaking studio can be used by the Taller Radal team during the day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The upstairs bedroom and studio are for the personal use of the resident artist.Fees and support The basic fee for one person during two weeks is $500 USD. We have different rates for training and improvement programs depending on the technique chosen and the duration of the course. There is also a fee for using the studio in the case of independent residencies. Please write to us so we can give you more details according to the project you want to carry out. We also offer technical assistance for the creation program for $15 USD per hour. Radal Studio is an autonomous and self-managed space. We do not receive financial aid or subsidies of any kind. Expectations towards the artist We encourage resident artists to carry out an exchange with the community through a talk, an exhibition of their production or a small workshop, but it is not mandatory.
