Berlin Exhibition Call for Drawings Post date 26/09/2026 How does our perception change when we know nothing about the artist behind a work? How do we determine the value of a drawing when every work is offered at the same price? Where is the boundary between art and non-art? “Anonymous Drawings” is an exhibition project that puts these questions into practice. The exhibition at “ZAK – Zentrum für Aktuelle Kunst” in Berlin, Germany will feature around 600 drawings by 600 international artists, without revealing their names or the titles of the works. Every drawing is offered at a symbolic fixed price of €250. Of this amount, €200 goes directly to the artist, while the remainder helps fund future open calls and exhibitions. The fixed price does not reflect the market value of the work. Instead, it functions as a conceptual placeholder for any price imaginable within the art market. It symbolizes the possibility of art existing beyond economic hierarchies. Anonymity is maintained until a work is sold. Once sold, the drawing is removed from the wall, and the empty space is filled with the artist’s name and place of origin. Each exhibition is preceded by an international open call. There are no thematic requirements; the only limitation is a maximum format of A3 (29.7 x 42 cm). Biographical information is not requested. Selection is based solely on anonymized digital images. Only selected artists are asked to send their original drawings to Berlin. “Anonymous Drawings” is both a conceptual artwork and an exhibition platform: a collective artwork without hierarchies that continually rethinks the relationship between art, the market, and the public. 2026 – Artist Residency Program – Casa de Mono Deadline: 01 Oct 2026 Country: Colombia Presentation Following the principles of our Foundation, an NGO whose activities are based on ecosophical knowledge, this Artist Residency Program is conceived as an interchange platform between the artists-in-residency projects and the different practices that take place in the Foundation’s house, the city and the region. Mainly, the kind of practices that establish relationships with the environment based on sensitivity towards the planet, the protection of life, human freedoms and respect for individual differences. This program is aimed at both artists (in a wide sense: from visual to performing arts, from music to writing) and cultural managers or agents interested in putting forward artistic projects aligned with discourses of ecological and social sustainability and, in general terms, with the knowledge and practices related to the values and objectives encouraged by Casa de Mono. Characteristics of the program Even though the program is thought of as a self-directed artist residency, Casa de Mono team will offer the residents guidance during the conceptualization, production and exhibition of the project. Given this is an urban residency program, we will coordinate activities that will allow the resident to easily adapt to the city and get to know the local artistic context. In this regard, the following activities are put forth: dérives in the city center and places of interest, visits to relevant artistic spaces, encounters with artists, different cultural agents, and, in general, people interested in the artist’s background and/or project. At the end of the residency we will schedule the socialization of the results obtained during the residency, which can take the shape of an exhibition, conference or open-studio session. In any case, the resident can propose other socialization strategies that better adapt to the nature of their project. Note: The duration of the residency doesn’t necessarily have to be dedicated to the production of an artwork to be exhibited. It can also be dedicated to planning or structuring a project. The common spaces consist of an open kitchen and dining room, a laundry space (a patio with a washing machine and a clothes rack), and different spaces where residents can hang out or work (two balconies and a terrace). The house counts with free Internet access. Additionally, by request of the residents, it is possible to reserve a place or storage space in one of the house workshops, equipped with basic work tools. Casa de Mono’s house is also a place for taking care, admiring, inspiring on and sharing with animals. August 2026 können Bildende Künstler:innen mit biografischem Bezug zu Hessen wieder die Gelegenheit, sich für ein Reise- oder Residenzstipendium der Hessischen Kulturstiftung zu bewerben. Wer sich bewerben kann Für die altersunabhängigen Stipendien bewerben können sich bildende Künstler:innen, a) die in Hessen geboren sind oder b) die seit 1. Januar 2025 in Hessen leben (Erstwohnsitz) oder c) die ein Studium an einer Kunstakademie bzw. in vergleichbaren Studiengängen in Hessen absolviert haben. Bewerbungen als Künstler:innen-Duo sind möglich. Bewerbungen mit minderjährigen Kindern und gegebenenfalls einer dazugehörigen Betreuungsperson sowie – in medizinisch begründeten Fällen – einer eigenen Betreuungsperson sind nach Rücksprache ebenfalls möglich. Bewerbungen sind ausgeschlossen, a) wenn in der Vergangenheit bereits ein Residenz- oder ein Reisestipendium der Hessischen Kulturstiftung zuerkannt worden ist b) wenn ein Studium oder eine Ausbildung absolviert wird und zum Zeitpunkt der Bewerbung noch nicht abgeschlossen ist. Duration of residency Die Stifung vergibt für die Jahre 2027 und 2028 insgesamt 5 freie Reisestipendien (mind. 3 bis max. 12 Monate), 7 Residenzstipendien (New York City, London, Paris: 12 Monate, Istanbul: 6 Monate) sowie erstmals 2 kombinierte Residenz- und Reisestipendien (Residenz im Goethe-Institut Villa Kamogawa in Kyoto: 3 Monate, anschließende individuelle Reise- und Arbeitsphase in Japan: 3 Monate) Accommodation London Das Atelierhaus liegt im Osten Londons, im Stadtteil Bow. Das zweigeschossige Reihenhaus mit insgesamt 110 qm Nutzfläche ist ausgestattet mit jeweils zwei Arbeits- und Schlafräumen, Küche, Speicherraum und Keller. Hinter dem Haus schließt sich ein kleiner Garten an. Einige wichtige Galerien wie Whitechapel und Chisenhale Gallery liegen in den angrenzenden Stadtteilen Hoxton, Hackney und Bethnal Green, in denen sich in den letzten Jahren die junge Kunst- und Kulturszene etabliert hat. Das Atelierhaus wird durch Acme Studios verwaltet, die die Stipendiat:innen vor Ort betreuen und Kontakte zu Kunstinstitutionen, Künstler:innen vermitteln. New York Das kombinierte Wohn- und Arbeitsatelier befindet sich im Manhattaner Stadtteil Tribeca. In der obersten Etage eines fünfstöckigen Wohn- und Geschäftshauses steht den Stipendiat:innen der Hessischen Kulturstiftung ein 95 qm großes Apartment mit Wohn- und Arbeitsraum, Küche und Bad zur Verfügung. Paris Innerhalb des Gebäudekomplexes der Cité Internationale des Arts in der Rue de l’Hôtel de Ville befindet sich auch das Wohn- und Arbeitsatelier der Hessischen Kulturstiftung. Wohn- und Schlafzimmer, ein Arbeitsraum, Küche und Bad mit insgesamt 65 qm verteilen sich über zwei Etagen. In der Cité Internationale des Arts, die in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Centre Pompidou und dem Musée du Louvre gelegen ist, stehen den Stipendiat:innen alle Einrichtungen des großen Künstlerhauses wie Druck- und Keramikwerkstätten zur Verfügung. Istanbul Die Atelierwohnung befindet sich in der Regel inmitten des Stadtteils Beyoğlu. Von dort aus gelangt man fußläufig zum Galataturm und zu wichtigen Galerien und Museen für zeitgenössische Kunst. Es handelt sich um eine angemietete Atelierwohnung mit ca. 70-90 qm, welche von dem deutsch-türkischen Architekten- und Liegenschaftsbüro Manzara Istanbul verwaltet wird. Dieses betreut auch die Stipendiat:innen vor Ort und vermittelt Kontakte zu Künstler:innen sowie Kunstinstitutionen. Das Büro bemüht sich um einen interkulturellen Austausch und veranstaltet hierzu eigene Kulturevents. Aviário Studio Printmaking Residency – Winter/Spring 2027 Deadline: 17 Oct 2026 Country: Portugal An art residency provides the technical conditions, time, and space to develop ideas and try new approaches. It is a moment that promotes connection between artists from different backgrounds and consequently the exchange of knowledge and experiences. Aviário Studio Art Residency aims to promote exploration and production in the Visual Arts. Artists can develop projects using a medium or a combination of technologies. Aviário Studio is an artist-run space with workshops equipped to develop projects on Printmaking, Ceramics, Wood, Metal, Sculpture, Installation, Drawing, Painting, Photography and Bookbinding. The program is customized according to the participating artist’s goals regarding duration, outcome and focus. We offer the conditions to test possibilities and materialize ideas. On one hand, it can be a moment of transition, more connected to experimentation and research; on the other hand, it can be the point of consolidation of a project translated into the production of a new body of work. Duration of residency The duration of the residencies at Aviário Studio varies from 2 weeks to 6months. Accommodation You are free to decide if you want to stay at Aviário Studio’s accommodations or search for a place on your own. Aviário Studio has a guest house in the center of Ferreira do Zêzere and 2 km away from the studio (20min walk). If you decide to stay at Aviário Studio’s accommodations, you will be living in a shared house. The house is on the ground floor, and has one living room, an equipped kitchen, one bathroom, one toilet, three bedrooms, and outside space. There is free wi-fi at the house. All residents are responsible for their own bed-making, and for maintaining a clean and quiet house environment. We advise you to rent a car, especially if you want to enjoy what the region has to offer, because public transports here are limited or non-existent. A sense of history, with retro pieces of furniture and original wooden floor, windows, doors and a fully functional kitchen for the self-catering of residents, bathroom, Cable TV, Wifi, washing machine. The space was renovated over the course of a whole year and decorated following an ‘‘eclectic luxury’’ approach that combines vintage design with contemporary art. The space is filled with original art and vintage objects sourced in galleries and antique shops across Serbia and Europe.
