Residency for Glassmakers and Artists – September-October 2026 Deadline: 15 Aug 2026 Country: Czech Republic The residency has no fixed structure and is open to artists of any discipline looking for space to develop their project. Should you wish to explore glassmaking or photographic techniques and technologies we offer, we will be happy to provide full support and expert consultations across a broad range of methods. Duration of residency 4 – 6 weeks Accommodation Accommodation is not provided by our institution; however, we can assist in finding a suitable apartment or short-term rental for the duration of the residency. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance The artist has access to a fully equipped space for the production of kiln-cast glass sculptures, slumped glass, grinding, polishing, and sandblasting of glass, as well as for the wet collodion photographic process and traditional photographic processes (fully equipped darkroom and photo studio). Our kilns can also be used for firing ceramics and porcelain. During the residency, the artist will have the opportunity for professional consultation on any project that can be realized with the available equipment, except for porcelain. The resident will have the opportunity to learn anything they are interested in and that we can teach.Studio / Workspace Our association’s workshop is equipped with technologies and tools that enable us to carry out a wide range of artistic projects. Our equipment includes advanced tools for working with glass, as well as a photography studio and a darkroom specialized in the wet collodion process, allowing for the creation of unique analog photographs. He received a bachelor of fine art degree from Kendall College of Art and Design in 2001. Following his formal education, Darren relocated to the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago. He then entered into a rewarding apprenticeship with his mentor, Christopher Molloy, who fostered a creative niche at the Alley Gallery in Evanston, where Darren is now co-owner and resident artist. His work is multidisciplinary but radiates from a nucleus of traditional painting. He is interested and concerned with all media and conceptual horizons that are defined by art, science, and the human experience. The residency is curated by artist Syinat Zholdosheva and Ruslan Ismailov together with the Bishkek School of Contemporary Art (BiSCA). Bulbul is family-run residency where artists work in close contact with local culture, nature, and the everyday rhythms of family life. Spaces The residency is located on the second floor of a family house and has a separate entrance from the terrace. The resident area includes: – Two bedrooms (one with two beds, one single bed) – Shared bathroom – Shared kitchen – A terrace – A 50 m² studio with a separate entrance from the terrace The studio can host small events, performances, readings, and live presentations. Interart Culture Center is… read more International Contemporary Dance Residency – Skopje Dance Theater New Production Interart Culture Center is opening an international call for 5 professional dance artists to take part in a 40-day contemporary dance residency in Skopje, North Macedonia, implemented within the Culture Moves Europe Residency Host Programme, funded by the European Union and implemented by the Goethe-Institut. Interart Culture Center is an independent cultural organisation based in Skopje, North Macedonia, dedicated to the development, production, education, and international promotion of contemporary performing arts, with a strong focus on contemporary dance. Through Dance Fest Skopje, Skopje Dance Theater, and international partnerships, Interart supports artistic mobility, choreographic production, professional exchange, and the development of contemporary dance in North Macedonia and the wider European context. The residency will take place from 22 March to 30 April 2027 and will focus on artistic research, choreographic development, collaboration, and the preparation of a new contemporary dance performance with Skopje Dance Theater. The call is open to professional dance artists legally residing in one of the Creative Europe countries, outside North Macedonia. Where: Strasbourg – France When: October 2026 Deadline for applications: August 15th 2026 Who we are looking for Studio Nikunja is looking for professional performers and dancers. Profiles based in or connected to the Basel-Strasbourg region are particularly welcome, but there is no regional limitation: applications are open to artists from all regions and countries. We are currently preparing The Last Supper, a 24-hour performance project planned to premiere at the end of October 2026, and wish to identify three to five performers whose artistic presence, commitment, and openness resonate with the project. Performers of all ages, ethnic and national backgrounds, and contemporary performance languages are welcome. This call is particularly suited to artists with experience in durational performance, butoh, experimental movement, and other demanding contemporary performance practices. As a popular and introspective juror, Joanne remains a quintessential player on the art scene, enjoying a very active art coaching/mentoring practice with artists across Canada. Entry is exclusively online. No other form of entry will be accepted. 2. An artist may submit a maximum of TWO entries. 3. There is a non-refundable $35.00 submission fee for FASM members and $45.00 for non-members, for up to two art works. 4. Art works must be the artist's original created within the last two years (2024 - 2026). 5. Only enter works for the Call which will be available for display during the exhibition. 6. A brief (200 word maximum) Artist’s bio must be included in your submission. 7. A brief (200 word maximum) written Artist’s statement of each work must be included in your submission. 8. Submissions will be accepted from June 1st to August 16th, 2026. 9. Successful entrants will be notified by email on August 29th, 2026. 10. Entries that are accepted must be on display from September 16th to October 3rd, 2026. 11. Accepted artwork must be received at the Holcim Gallery on September 14th between 5:00 and 7:00pm. 12. The exhibition is juried by digital image files. 13. Digital files must be in jpeg or png format, no more than 5MB in size and readable on a PC. For sculpture entries, please submit at least 2 images per artwork. 14. Sales/Commissions - Sale of artwork during the Juried Show will be administered by FASM. The payment will be remitted to the artist minus a commission of 20%. Artwork will be rejected for any of the following reasons: 1.It does not comply with the Town’s Harassment & Discrimination and Workplace Violence policies 2. It does not conform to the Holcim Gallery Requirements, as outlined in these Terms and Conditions and the Artist Welcome Package  3. It has been previously exhibited at the Holcim Gallery or demonstrated by an instructor 4. It does not qualify as original artwork, including but not limited to copies of another artist’s work, reproductions, digital copies, replicas, giclee prints or any other form of mechanical reproduction. 5. It is mass-produced or commercially manufactured 6. It is wet, unfinished or not ready for installation at the time of artwork sign-in 7. All submitted works must be based on original reference material. The use of AI-generated or AI-manipulated images as reference, in whole or in part, is not permitted. Works found to have relied on AI-generated imagery will be disqualified. INSURANCE: The Town of Milton provides insurance coverage for artworks while on display in the Holcim Gallery subject to a maximum $3,000 per work. Accidental breakage of glass or other fragile article damage, including frames, is not covered. Any insurance claims must be made before artwork is removed from the Gallery. Valuation is based on cost of replacement of materials or proof of the sales of comparable works in the last 24 months. TERMS AND CONDITIONS: The decision of the Jurors is final. FYI - You can go back in and add/edit images and edit text until the call ends. f. Please double check all information. We recommend you log out and then log back in to check. 2D IMAGE REQUIREMENTS: 3 images of each piece are required: • one of the art without frame, • one with frame, • a close detail image (zoomed into a small section of interest)* *Detail images must show an important aspect of the artwork. Self-Directed Writer Residency Deadline: 16 Aug 2026 Country: France Studio Faire is a contemporary art space in South West France, providing residencies for visual artists, makers, photographers, designers, musicians, writers, creative researchers and all other types of creative practitioner. Studio Faire is now inviting applications for this 2 week residency. We accept applications year-round, for residencies between January and November. Residents live and work in the house, studios and gardens of Studio Faire, a ‘Maison de maître’ built around 1830 and still retaining its period characteristics. It is the private home of Scottish couple Julia Douglas (Mixed Media Artist/Designer) and Colin Usher (Photographer/Designer/Drummer). There will be three other residents at Studio Faire during this period. The house is situated in the centre of the market town (and historic city) of Nérac, in the stunning Lot-et-Garonne region of South West France. Tranquil but not isolated! Residencies offer time to focus on research and development to inspire a new body of work or develop an existing project. They can nurture the growth of seedling ideas by giving the space to unselfconsciously experiment and play without expectation or obligation. There is a small desk facing the garden to the South, a table, a pinboard and a comfortable chair.Studio / Workspace The Resident will work and sleep in the ‘Garden View Room’. This spacious room (pictured) is situated on the first floor, at the back of the house, with a view over the gardens through two large windows. There is gallons of warming sunlight, as it is a South facing garden.Fees and support This self-directed residency is a self-funded residency for 1 person. Fees include: a private double bedroom/workspace, plus two shared shower rooms, toilets, kitchen, dining room and gardens. The fee for 1 person for 2 weeks is 1450€. Expectations towards the artist As this is a self-funded residency, Studio Faire has no expectations towards the artist, other than that they will work on their project for the majority of their stay. The intention is that this supportive environment, without the pressure to produce, will aid creativity, experimentation and the development of new ideas. Byrdcliffe Off-Season Cottage Residency (Fall/ Winter) Deadline: 16 Aug 2026 Country: United States The Byrdcliffe Off-Season Cottage Residency is tailored for artists and creative thinkers interested in a quiet retreat for deep focus. Experience the magic of the mountain during our quieter months with rusty leaves, bright snow, and illuminating stars. This opportunity is perfect for practitioners in the Literary and Performing Art fields, and others working with clean and contained mediums. The main criterion for acceptance to Byrdcliffe’s AiR program is artistic excellence and demonstrated commitment to one’s field of endeavor. Artists working in a range of disciplines are encouraged to apply including writing, visual arts, weaving, music, composition, digital arts, filmmaking, dance, and multi-disciplinary practices. A selection of financial need fellowships are available but very limited each year, covering partial to full residency fees. Duration of residency The Off-Season (Fall/Winter) Artist Residency is 3 months (October 15 – January 15). Artists are welcome to come and go from the Residency as they please while in attendance. Accommodation Artists are welcome to apply to one of our nine historic, winterized cottages. Most cottages are single bed, with some being double (best for co-applicants). Cottages are all built and priced differently, and photos and fees can be found on our website. Artists staying in cottages are required to set up their own utilities for the duration of their stay, and provide their own transportation for laundry and grocery services in town. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance The Off-Season Residency is tailored best to creative thinkers with a clean and contained practice. Writers, actors, poets, musicians, composers, acrylic painters and drawers are welcome to apply (to name a few). Artists are required to have their own transportation for the duration of their Residency. Our other 8 Off-Season Cottages have workrooms that also act as living spaces, and artists are encouraged to work freely in all parts of the historic cottages.
