Real Greece Happens in Winter!

До 4 авг. 2027 г.

The Lakkos Artists Residency

Real Greece Happens in Winter! Deadline: 04 Aug 2027 Country: Greece There is no residency program. The residency is known for murals, but this depends on the weather. Of course, Crete being Crete, we get some lovely winter days that trick you into thinking spring has come early. Most artists come to stay during the hot months. What the summer guests miss is seeing how Greeks/Cretans live outside of the busy tourist season. In the colder months, Heraklion City is buzzing with the locals who are much more relaxed as it’s their downtime of the year. The residency tends to be less busy, but for those who do come (normally to escape their colder winters), it’s a much more authentic experience. A discounted offer is 150 Euros a week for dates between 04/01/2027 and 02/04/2026. Please mention this in your application. Duration of residency Minimum stay two weeks. Accommodation The residency is in a beautiful Modernist-style house located inside the five-hundred-year-old Venetian Walls of Heraklion City’s Old Town. there are two bedrooms upstairs which share a kitchen and bathroom. When those rooms are booked out there is a private apartment downstairs with its own bathroom and kitchen. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance All creatives are welcome.Studio / Workspace There are no separate studio spaces upstairs. Guests often work in the kitchen but generally in their bedrooms. The downstairs apartment has what was once the original living room for a studio.Fees and support A reduced off-season price is 190 Euros per week for one upstairs, or 250 Euros per week for a couple or the private downstairs apartment. There is a 50% non-refundable advance deposit to reserve a stay. Paint can be provided for one mural (spray not included). Expectations towards the artist The artists must be pleasant to other guests. There are no expectations apart from keeping the residency tidy. The residency has a reputation for murals/street art. Application information What you want to do at The Lakkos Artists Residency? Who else will be coming with you? The dates you are interested in? How long you would like to stay for? How did you hear about us? Artists statement, short biography, a link to your website, a CV or a portfolio, etc.

Creatives, scholars and researchers working in all disciplines are welcome to join us in residence. There is no expectation of a final residency outcome. Whether you wish simply to be up close to your practice, allow nature to suffuse your thinking and feeling, produce new work or complete a project, at The Museum of Loss and Renewal the utmost will be done to ensure that you can achieve what you set out to do. Citizens are closely related, and move between the villages and their other homes in places such as Rome, Naples, Paris, Brussels, Glasgow, Melbourne, Philadelphia, Toronto … This is due to historic waves of (return) migration, and each person contributes to our active Filignano community. The multi-lingual community welcomes our residents warmly, whether that be over coffee or a meal in the local Bar run by the delightful Adua, on impromptu mountain walks, in invitations to join the olive harvest, or to participate in local festivals. ‘In Simplicitate Libertas’ 1-Week UNESCO Site Discovery Deadline: 31 Jul 2026 Country: Italy RUC residency is focused on supporting artists’ development through reconnecting with nature and with the valley’s ancient traditions: the Camonica Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, is nestled high in the central Alps of Italy. PATAGONIA ARGENTINA – 2027 multidisciplinary program

Постоянный прием

PATAGONIA ARGENTINA

PATAGONIA ARGENTINA – 2027 multidisciplinary program Deadline: 05 Aug 2026 Country: Argentina PATAGONIA ARGENTINA is a special multidisciplinary residency session right by Moreno lake shores, in Bariloche, Argentina, designed for creators seeking to explore, experiment, and deepen their creative processes within the breathtaking Patagonian autumn. We will gather in a dedicated, cozy lakeside refuge nestled within a spectacular 2.5-acre park surrounded by native trees, this tranquil property offers direct and private access to the pristine shores of Lago Moreno. Lago Moreno, at the very core of Bariloche’s Circuito Chico, was strategically selected as the canvas for this session. Situated where the granite peaks of the Andes melt into millennial woods, this environment serves as a living laboratory for deep introspection and earthly connection. Perched on the shores of this pristine glacial body of water, the venue provides a scenic haven that beautifully balances the vastness of the Patagonian wilderness with the stillness required for profound individual inquiry. Operating under the premise of freedom of inquiry and exploration of our creative mind and projects over the pressure of a final product, we offer a space for retreat and contemplation—tailored for personal exploration and introspection, yet profoundly rooted in the power of a group sharing experience alongside a community of artists from different disciplines. Inspired by practices of deep immersion and connection in ecological paradises, PATAGONIA ARGENTINA invites residents to embrace stillness as a bridge for profound connection: with the identity of this new territory, with the unique rhythm of the creative process, with oneself, and with the community of creators sharing the space. The Patagonian autumn is the threshold of deep listening, observation and expansion. The forest of coihues and lengas changes its skin before our eyes, inviting us to slow down our pace, understand the cycles of our creative process and thinking, and inhabit a new intimacy with both the natural and human environment. Duration of residency April 15th to May 6th, 2027 3 weeks / 21 nights 2 weeks, please check with us. Accommodation Private accomodation ensuite for each artist in Lakeside refuge nestled within a spectacular 2.5-acre park surrounded by native trees, this tranquil property offers direct and private access to the pristine shores of Lago Moreno. Privacy & Comfort: To allow full intimacy for rest and individual reflection, accommodation consists of simple and comfortable private rooms with private bathrooms for every artist.  The space is designed to encourage deep focus and disconnect from the outside rush. Shared Spaces: The heart of the venue is its large communal lounge, featuring panoramic windows overlooking the lake and the southern mountains. Final Balance: The remaining 50% must be fulfilled 60 days prior to your arrival in Lago Moreno, Bariloche. Grants & External Funding: We recognize that many practitioners rely on institutional support. We are fully prepared to synchronize our administrative deadlines with your funding cycles. Because our capacity is strictly limited to 10 participants, it is vital that you outline your funding roadmap (including agency names and expected decision dates) in your initial application. This transparency allows us to reserve your place while your grant is being processed. Flexibility: If you cannot meet these deadlines and need more time or installments, please contact us. WHAT IS INCLUDED: PROGRAM PARTICIPATION: Our program integrates independent practice with field trips to cultural and ecological sites around the Circuito Chico. There will be one curator on site and you will be able to share insights with peers in a setting designed to deepen your creative inquiry. All activities, included or not, are optional, to respect the flow of each participant. Every session is unique, evolving alongside the seasons and the specific synergy of each group. FIELD TRIPS: Through organized group trips to key local sites, participants gain a firsthand perspective on the region’s heritage and ecology. TRANSFER FROM BARILOCHE: Transportation from San Carlos de Bariloche Airport (BRC) to the venue will be available on the starting day of the residence, at one specific time arranged to match all incoming participants. This is one single transfer for the entire group. Other airports, locations, dates, or times different from the official organized one will not be covered. PRE-RESIDENCY SUPPORT AND PLANNING: Personalized assistance both by email, WhatsApp, and a formal video call before your arrival. Any additional activities, excursions, guides, or translators outside the pre-programmed schedule are not included. Participants are also responsible for their daily meals (outside the two official dinners), snacks, alcoholic beverages, and any other personal expenses beyond the basic provisions mentioned.
