The eight-week residencies host four artists per season. They include an honorarium, lodging, work spaces, logistical support, and access to the centre’s technical and documentary resources. Est-Nord-Est (ENE) is an artist-run centre whose mission is to provide an international community of artists and authors in contemporary art with support by offering space and time for research and experimentation, as well as privileged access to local resources and knowhow. The centre is situated in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, a village on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, in a unique geographic and historical locale. The predominant aspects of the landscapes are farms, forests, and the river. Originally based on the idea of encounters between sculptors with contemporary practices and those using regional traditional skills, ENE now welcomes contemporary visual-art artists from all disciplines. The residencies at ENE are intended for professional artists, both established and emerging, from all over the world. They offer artists and authors an opportunity to explore their research more deeply, to experiment, and to create in a cultural space that is unique, lively, and stimulating. The eight-week residency periods, which bring together four artists and one author in the field of contemporary art, are offered in spring, summer, fall and winter. ENE occupies a building designed and built for the residencies of artists and authors. The architectural concept places exchanges, friendly relations, and technical and logistical assistance at the heart of the experience offered to residents. Residency periods: - Spring: April 19 to June 11, 2027 - Summer*: July 5 to August 27, 2027 - Fall: September 27 to November 19, 2027 - Winter: January 24 to March 18, 2028 *The summer 2026 residency is curated by Cécilia Bracmort, titled Corps céleste, corps terrestre (Celestial Body, Terrestrial Body) centered on the concept of osmosis, viewed as a process of gradual transformation through which beings, materials, and environments mutually influence one another. The eight-week residency includes: - Residency honorarium of CAD $2080 - Access to an individual studio workshop to be used for work and lodging - Access to specialized equipment (wood, metal, ceramics) - Access to a documentation centre (books, magazines) - Access to local resources - Technical, artistic and logistical support - Access to a bicycle in season/occasional local transportation in winter - Materials, travel fees and other living charges are at the residents’ expense. As with every issue of If/Then, chance sits somewhere in the background: interrup If/Then: Chance and Creativity - Vol. 2: Ritual Deadline: 09/11/2026City: Devon | Country: United Kingdom | Brandon Barnard For the second volume of If/Then: Chance and Creativity, we are looking for artists, writers and makers whose work explores ritual – repetition, routine, ceremony, habit, superstition, preparation, and the strange meanings that can emerge from doing something again and again. The publication is interested in both the rituals that shape creative practice and the moments where repetition begins to produce something unexpected. As with every issue of If/Then, chance sits somewhere in the background: interrupting, altering, or quietly changing what we thought we were doing. If/Then: Chance and Creativity - Vol. 2: Ritual We are inviting submissions for the second volume of If/Then: Chance and Creativity, a quarterly publication that explores how chance influences the creative process, and the lasting impact this can leave. This issue explores the idea of ‘Ritual’ – the things we repeat, return to, prepare for, or perform, and how these actions can shape the way we create, think, remember, and move through the world. Ritual can be deliberate or unconscious. It can be something shared between many people, or something that makes sense only to you. And, true to the wider theme of If/Then, we are particularly interested in what happens when repetition meets unpredictability. What changes when you perform the same action again and again? What stays the same? And where does chance begin to creep in? True to our theme, we see this publication as an experiment in chance itself! We don’t know what we’ll receive, and that unpredictability is part of the process. ‘Ritual’ is up to interpretation. It could be a repeated element of your creative practice, a daily routine, a superstition, a private ceremony, an inherited tradition, a compulsive action, or a process that has gradually taken on meaning through repetition. It might be something you do before beginning a piece of work. Something you do every day without really knowing why. Something passed between generations. Or something completely ordinary which, through repetition, has become important. We are looking for both art pieces that relate to ‘ritual’, as well as articles and texts that delve into the topic. On a more open basis, works that incorporate or explore chance can be sent in as well, however those that respond to the brief of ‘ritual’ will be prioritised. Submissions may take the form of: - Photography ‘as a medium’ (single images or series). - Images of Art (paintings, sculptures, illustrations, etc.). - Text (short prose, essays/articles, or poetry — max. 1000 words). - Film stills and a URL (single stills or curated sequences). - Collaborative works. - Process-based documentation. - Documentation of performances, routines, repeated actions or interventions. If you are unsure if your work is applicable, feel free to send it anyway. We can have a discussion to see how you can be included. Together, these works will be gathered into a collective publication. All accepted contributors will be sent a series of questions exploring the themes of ritual and chance, looking not only at the finished work, but at the processes, habits, decisions and repeated actions surrounding its creation. Submission Guidelines: - Only work from the last 3 years will be accepted – 2024, 2025, 2026. This is in order to ensure the conversation we are having is contemporaneous. - Number of works: Up to 4 pieces (images or texts) per applicant. Not all may be accepted, but submitting multiple works gives us a broader sense of your practice. - Please label the work with your name and title of the piece. Include: - Your name and contact details. - A short artist statement (max. 150 words). - Year of your piece’s completion. - Social media links if you want them included in the magazine. Publication: - Selected works will be published in If/Then: Chance and Creativity – Vol. 2 – The Ritual Issue. - There is no submission fee. This may change with future volumes. - Contributors will receive a PDF of the magazine when it is released. - If/Then: Chance and Creativity is a digital-first quarterly publication exploring creative processes through the lens of chance. Future volumes may also be released in print depending on interest. Individual artists maintain full copyright over their submitted works. By submitting, you grant If/Then: Chance and Creativity permission to reproduce your work within the magazine and related promotional materials, both digital and print, at no financial compensation. All profits from potential magazine sales will go toward supporting future issues. Information on the Editor: I’m Brandon J. Barnard, an experimental filmmaker and artist based in Plymouth, UK. I’m currently doing a PhD on ‘Chance in Filmmaking’, exploring how randomness, restrictions and unexpected events can spark creativity. In my work, I use arbitrary prompts and rules to push projects in directions I may not have chosen myself. I’m much more interested in the process of creation than the finished piece. I enjoy documenting my art journey through articles and diagrams, following how seemingly inconsequential decisions, repetitions and moments in life can gradually become important. We are interested in a broad range of approaches to the theme of Ritual, particularly work concerned with repetition, routine, ceremony, habit, superstition, preparation, process, or the relationship between ritual and chance. If you are unsure whether your work fits, you are still welcome to submit it. Please submit through CuratorSpace before the deadline. If there are any problems with your submission, feel free to get in touch. These can be individual pieces or works from a related series. Not every submitted piece will necessarily be selected, but submitting several works can help give a broader sense of your practice. If selected, you will be contacted regarding any additional files or information needed for publication. If/Then is a digital-first publication and original physical artworks are not required. Contributors retain copyright in their work and will receive a digital copy of the completed publication. If/Then is currently an independently produced publication. Any income generated through future sales will go towards supporting future issues. The completed issue will be promoted through the If/Then website and associated online channels. Where contributors provide social-media or website details, these may also be included alongside their work and used when promoting the issue. The publication is digital-first and will continue to be distributed and archived online after release. I am particularly interested in work that approaches the theme in an unexpected or personal way, explores creative processes, or creates interesting connections between ritual, repetition and chance. Selection is not simply about choosing the most polished work. Part of the purpose of If/Then is to bring different practices and ways of thinking into conversation with one another. I may ask for higher-quality files, captions or additional information where needed. Accepted contributors will also be sent a short series of editorial questions exploring their work, creative process, ritual and chance. Selected responses may be included within the finished publication. You will have an opportunity to clarify information relating to your contribution before publication. This could include daily routines, repeated creative processes, ceremony, superstition, preparation, inherited traditions, private habits, compulsive actions, performance, repetition, or ordinary actions that have gained meaning over time. We welcome: Photography. Painting, sculpture, illustration and other visual art. Film stills and moving-image work. Short prose, articles, essays and poetry. Collaborative work. Performance documentation. Process-based work and documentation. Other creative responses to ritual, repetition and chance. Work does not need to explicitly involve chance, although work exploring the relationship between chance and ritual is particularly welcome. Its relationship to the theme of Ritual. The strength or interest of the idea behind the work. How it contributes to the wider conversation of the issue. Its relationship to process, repetition, unpredictability or chance where relevant. The overall balance and variety of the final publication. There is no preferred medium, style or level of professional experience. If/Then is interested as much in how and why something was made as in the finished work itself. You must have an account to make a submission using CuratorSpace. GlogauAIR
OPEN CALL・On-line Residency (January – March 2027) Deadline: 10 Nov 2026 Country: Global GlogauAIR is an international artists’ residency based in Berlin (Germany), which has been providing a space for artistic coexistence since 2006. This virtual format has operated alongside the On-site Residency in Berlin since 2020. The online model remains available for artists from all disciplines, given that many of them are unable to travel to Berlin for various reasons; however, this enables them to develop their artistic practice, research and communication through weekly one-to-one curatorial tutorials, regular group meetings, occasional professional workshops and exchanges with art professionals, such as curators and galleries, based in Berlin. All of this is organised in accordance with each artist’s availability and time zone. The program includes: CURATORIAL SUPPORT: Individual, weekly advice from an international curator, who provides guidance and support through in-person meetings, video calls or telephone calls, broadening the creative experience and opening up new professional horizons in the art field. GROUP MEETINGS Weekly group meetings with your residency group and curator provide opportunities for continuous feedback and discussion. PROGRAM EVENTS: A range of workshops are organised on important topics for professional artists, such as ‘arts marketing tools’ and ‘how to create your own portfolio and CV’. EXTERNAL CURATOR: A professional from Berlin (a curator, gallery representative or cultural manager) is invited via videoconference to hold a one-to-one meeting with each artist to evaluate their work, offering constructive critical feedback that will help the artist to view their work from a different perspective. CATALOGUE: At the end of the Program, GlogauAIR prints a collective catalogue featuring the work of all participants; this publication will also be available on our website. Every artist is assigned a page to present their artist statement text and an image of their artwork. Online artists will receive three printed copies by post. SOCIAL MEDIA AND ART PLATFORMS: During the Program, GlogauAIR runs an ongoing digital campaign through the most popular social media and art platforms, showcasing the artists and promoting their work, both individually and as a group. GlogauAIR’s presence on Instagram is particularly significant, with over 20,000 followers; through the ‘Instagram takeover’, followers can take a look at the artistic practice and creative process of GlogauAIR’s artists. [VIRTUAL] OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION: An individually customized online presentation of each and every one of the artistic projects completed during the Program reinterpreted virtually. The event provides global access to our Residence Program and offers artists the opportunity to share their work with their own network of contacts, regardless of their location. MEMBERSHIP OF THE GLOGAUAIR COMMUNITY: All participants will be added to ‘GlogauAIR Community’ web archive , where everyone can view the artists’ profiles with documentation of their work. Artists can update their profiles and share them free of charge, as if it were their own website. GlogauAIR also keeps the entire community informed about opportunities such as grants, awards and funding, as well as announcing important developments in the artists’ careers, such as publicizing their upcoming exhibitions. Duration of residency 3 months Accommodation This is a flexible online program, which means you can join from your own home or studio wherever you are located in the world. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance GlogauAIR is a space for all types of artists. We welcome applications from all around the world and various backgrounds and artistic disciplines. The applications are reviewed by GlogauAIR’s team which is comprised of local and international art professionals.Studio / Workspace This is an online program in which the tutoring curators are flexible to suit the artists’ needs and can adapt to the time zones of different countries, allowing participants to take part from home, their studio, workshop, etc., regardless of where they are.Fees and support The price is 300 euros per month for a total of 3 months (900 euros in total). Participating artists are encouraged to apply for grants to support their participation. We can provide a list of available scholarships and institutional funding, with successful grants received by previous GlogauAIR artists highlighted. Expectations towards the artist Artists should come prepared to work on a specific project and receive support towards presenting new work in the form of virtual open studios at the end of the online residency program. Application information Applications are evaluated by a jury of local and international art professionals. The selection will be determined based on artistic quality, originality and the proposed residency project.

Dan Farrimond 8 hours ago In November 2026, the exclusively-online service HBN will celebrate its first anniversary with a mini-festival of teletext art. Community member SoyuzRocket AKA Adam Hanate is hosting a birthday celebration, and invites your teletext artwork to be featured. HBN Teksti-TV aims to recreate the experience of ’80s/’90s Finnish teletext, taking inspiration from Yle Text and other domestic services. Like the NMS Ceefax recreation project, it incorporates Python scripts that fetch RSS feeds, and runs on a teletext in-vision decoder from a Raspberry Pi. The service also takes inspiration from Teledata, which ran on South Africa’s SABC from 1985 until some time after 2014. HBN features advertisements in the same graphical style, which you can see on the in-vision YouTube broadcast. Your Guidelines TL;DR – send Adam TTI files or teletext web editor links to your art 1. Your entry can be anything related to HBN’s 1 year anniversary celebrations. We will also accept general teletext artwork. Prompts: Helsinki, retro, 1 year, cake, TV, uutisikkuna, HBN, Finland 2. We will accept these formats: 3. You can also enter as many artworks as you like, but bear in mind that they are shown at HBN’s discretion. 4. Be aware that when pages are broadcast on teletext services, the page header (row 0) and fastext labels (row 24) are overwritten, so try not to use them in your art. Here‘s a diagram of where you can find these. 5. Level 1/1.5 Teletext only for this project – no Level 2.5 (the one with the extra colours and shapes), however you can use black as a foreground colour (graphics or text) if you like. 6. You retain copyright of your work, but give permission for it to be shown on the teletext service(s) listed above (HBN Teksti-TV). If you have a question about anything art teletext-related, I’ll be happy to help. Joya: arte + ecología / AiR
Joya: AiR / spring residencies 2027 Deadline: 12 Nov 2026 Country: Spain Joya: arte + ecología / AiR is an off-grid, climate-positive interdisciplinary residency (established in 2006) rooted at the intersection of art, ecology, and sustainable living practices. It is located in the heart of the Parque Natural Sierra María–Los Vélez, in the north of Almería province, Andalucía, Spain. Joya: AiR provides residents with abundant time and space to create, reflect, explore, and engage with their surroundings. Joya: AiR supports a wide range of disciplines including, but not limited to, visual art, writing, music, dance, curatorial practice, and film. Founded and curated by Simon and Donna Beckmann in 2006, the Joya: arte + ecología / AiR programme is grounded in the belief that dynamic and sustainable creative activity is essential to regenerating land that has been gradually abandoned over the past fifty years. Since its inception, Joya: AiR has welcomed over 3000 artists and creatives to develop and realise their projects in one of the most unique and beautiful regions of the country. This area is also one of the sunniest in Europe, receiving more than 3,000 hours of sunlight annually. Residents have access to individual studio spaces and 20 hectares of land. The residency includes accommodation (private room with attached bathroom), meals, and transportation to and from the nearest public transport system. Joya: AiR offers a supportive and developmental environment for resident artists, writers, and researchers through ongoing dialogue and, upon arrival, a keynote orientation presentation. The knowledge shared is intended to inform residents about the immediate region—its geography, climate (including climate challenges), history, and strategies for sustainable, climate-positive living. We advocate for the role of culture in rural contexts, offering examples of collaboration, progressive approaches to engaging with the natural environment, and ways to live creatively and synchronously with nature. Duration of residency The length of the residency would be 1 to 2 weeks (longer periods are available) NOTE* the experience of previous resident artists strongly indicates that a two week residency is much more preferable and productive than one. Accommodation Private bedroom with attached bathroom including all meals Disciplines, work equipment and assistance Interdisciplinary: Visual Art / Sculpture / Ceramics* / Dance / Theatre / Performing Arts / Music / Writing / Educational Programmes / New Media / Curatorial / Film Making *We have an abundance of clay in our location available for modelling / ceramics. We actively wish to encourage the building of temporary wood fired kilns (winter only) as a group / community action. We do not have specific pottery equipment.Studio / Workspace Private studioFees and support The Joya: AiR residency has a fee of €400 per week + tax (10%). This covers the cost of accommodation, studio space and all meals. It also includes collection from our nearest transport hub, Vélez Rubio. Expectations towards the artist Selected artists are invited to contribute to the Joya: artists listing and are asked to contribute a small text outlining the nature of their practice whilst in residency. This will be posted to the Joya: website along with a link to the artists website. (examples are to be found HERE) Selected artists are requested to make a presentation of their work to other artists in residence during their period at Joya: AiR. This is not obligatory but it does contribute to the overall experience of all artists in residence. Application information Website/URL with examples of recent work If you do not have a website, please email five images of recent work for visual artists or three writing samples for writers along with your application to [email protected]. We do not accept Facebook profiles in place of an artist website. We will consider an Instagram feed if accompanied by a c.v. Images should be no more than 500 pixels. Joya: AiR
Joya: BERILO Deadline: 12 Nov 2026 Country: Spain Joya: berilo Joya invites artists of all disciplines who work in the care and health sectors to apply for an annual residency award. We welcome those whose artistic practice is integral to their profession, as well as those who pursue it independently. This invitation expresses our appreciation for those who are devoted to the care and wellbeing of others. At Joya: AiR we understand that such work calls for a depth of empathy that reaches beyond kindness: the ability to meet vulnerability with respect, to remain attentive in difficult circumstances, and to offer reassurance when it is most needed. Many artists belong to this community, whether their artistic practice forms part of their profession or develops alongside it. Joya: berilo honours their contribution by offering time, space and hospitality in which to nurture their creative work. Within the landscape and community of Joya, the residency offers an opportunity to reflect, experiment and develop ideas, giving creative work the sustained attention that everyday responsibilities can make difficult to find. Artists are welcome to pursue work on any subject, with no expectation that their practice should address care or health. Joya: berilo celebrates the life of Beryl Beckmann, who lived to the age of one hundred. As a physiotherapist, she cared deeply about her community and the people she treated. She understood that their needs did not end when treatment did. She established and ran a charity for people recovering from stroke, bringing continued care, companionship and a sense of belonging to those whose UK National Health Service treatment had finished. We wish this award to carry forward something of her generosity and the quiet conviction with which she made care for others part of her life. In her spirit, this residency extends care and consideration to those who offer it to others, recognising and supporting the artistic lives of people whose work enriches their communities. Applications are welcomed from artists of all disciplines who currently work in the care or health sector. Applicants should provide details of their role and place of work, together with supporting evidence of their employment. They must hold a degree in the arts or humanities and demonstrate an active artistic practice through exhibitions, publications, performances or equivalent activity relevant to their discipline. Applicants should apply through the normal Joya: AiR application page, clearly stating that they wish to be considered for the Joya: berilo residency award. The award offers a one-week residency at Joya: AiR, with the residency fee waived in full, providing time and space for creative work within its landscape and community. Each award recipient will also be profiled on the Joya: AiR website and social media, introducing their work to a broad audience. Awardees are responsible for making their own travel arrangements and covering the cost of their journey to and from the residency.
