Residency in a private fully furnished small apartment which is unique and has character, in Dorcol historic building, built in 1921-23. (approximately 40 square meters, 4.20 m high ceilings). Living in Dorćol has its charms, it could be like living in Kreuzberg in Berlin or Manhattan in NYC. A sense of history, with retro pieces of furniture and original wooden floor, windows, doors and a fully functional kitchen for the self-catering of residents, bathroom, Cable TV, Wifi, washing machine. The space was renovated over the course of a whole year and decorated following an ‘‘eclectic luxury’’ approach that combines vintage design with contemporary art. The space is filled with original art and vintage objects sourced in galleries and antique shops across Serbia and Europe. The result is a very personal, inviting space that skillfully mixes contrasting elements with surprising results. PETIT Studio is a right place for all those who wish to have the concentrated space and time away, to think and explore what can be achieved, and to see what can emerge when in an artistically charged space away from the day-to-day thinking of their norm. BKN Winter & Autumn Open Call 2026 Deadline: 18 Nov 2026 Country: Sweden Björkö Konstnod (BKN) is a process-based artist‑run residency programme founded in 2020. It is based in two former schoolhouses in Stockholm’s northern archipelago, where the forest meets the sea. The residency centres on a collective experience that embraces the idea of “thinking together, learning together”. We host the residency year‑round, opening applications for each season three months in advance and closing them as the season begins. We accept applications on a rolling basis, by email, no later than one month before your arrival. Duration of residency The shortest residency period is 2 weeks and can last up to 3 months. Accommodation We have arranged bedrooms for residents in the smaller sleep/silent house, while the larger work/party house serves as a space for both individual and group activities. It includes a communal kitchen and living room for shared dinners and group activities, plus a library, a shower room, and four toilets. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance We welcome artists, researchers, writers, and curators working within the field of contemporary art. BKN curators or board members are always on-site, ready to help you develop your project.Studio / Workspace The residency offers four studios, two large and two smaller, suitable for a wide range of practices including painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and installation. Facilities also include a wood and craft workshop, spaces for working with natural and organic materials, and resources for sound and video production (portable camera, green screen, projector, and recorder provided). Visual Arts – Sounding Like a Mountain Deadline: 18 Nov 2026 Country: Canada This residency invites visual artists to apply with projects that consider how places sing, how memory persists in vibration and how listening to the land can re-orient ethical and political relations. Drawing on concepts inherent to acoustic ecology and taking the mountains of Banff as inspiration, participants are invited to explore how sound activates multiple temporalities – shaped by land use, migration, ecological disruption, colonial infrastructures, and so on. The Earth can be thought of as a field of relations in which biological, geological and social processes co-create one another. Participants will reflect on ecological and ethical listening and sounding as it informs thinking, art-making and presentation. Visual Arts residencies at Banff Centre are structured programs of faculty-led activity and mentorship, supporting project-based studio practice. It offers an open plan kitchen and lounge area full of artistic touches. It is home to a writing/art studio for guests to use or work remotely from. In 2014 a library was built in El Paredón by local non-profit La Choza Chula. Staying at Villa Rosa/Studio Luce enables us to pay $500 monthly to the librarian Mhajo, to pay her and her assistant’s salary. This enables the library to continue it’s full education programme, working with the primary school in the mornings and providing education opportunities in the afternoon when the school is closed. Dancers Intensive: Colossus with Stephanie Lake Company Deadline: 18 Nov 2026 Country: Canada Led by Stephanie Lake Company, this three-week intensive brings together a large ensemble of contemporary dancers to train, rehearse, and perform Colossus, Stephanie Lake’s internationally acclaimed work for 50+ dancers. Colossus is a monumental work in which 50 dancers become a single, continually transforming organism. Moving between unison and disruption, control and unpredictability, the work examines how individuals negotiate agency, leadership, conformity, resistance, and connection within a group. Colossus premiered in Australia in 2018 and has since been performed in 17 countries worldwide by nearly 1000 dancers. For the first time, the Banff production of Colossus invites dancers from across the globe to learn and perform the work. Through the teaching and performance of this large-scale work, participants will engage with Lake’s choreographic language while developing precision, stamina, spatial awareness, responsiveness, and trust. The laboratory’s research explores the interactions between light and matter in order to design the next generation of “soft” semiconductors3 — materials at the heart of flexible solar cells, ultra-energy-efficient displays and emerging quantum technologies. The laboratory’s research opens up a rich imaginative space between chemistry and physics. The very title of the programme — TRACES — invites reflection on what materials, light or energy leave behind as imprints, memories or becomings. Applicants are invited to put forward a proposal that resonates with one or both of the following open questions: - How can we make perceptible what escapes perception — the transformation of light into energy, phenomena at the scale of materials? - What forms, narratives or experiences can emerge from a dialogue between visual creation and the science of energy materials? All visual arts disciplines are welcome (installation, sculpture, digital media, visual performance, photography, etc.). The proposal does not need to be fully developed at the application stage: the jury will assess the relevance of the proposed dialogue with the scientific laboratory and the originality of the artist’s overall approach.
