The Peripeteia Artist Residency offers year-round opportunities for working periods of varying lengths in Seinäjoki. The aim of the residency is to provide the resources for focused creative work while also enabling interaction with the local community, enriching the cultural life of the area. Artists are encouraged to propose projects that foster collaboration with local actors or involve creating art through presence and dialogue with the local community. Showers and toilets are located in shared spaces. The shared kitchen is equipped with basic cooking utensils. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance The residency provides workspace, and access to tools in a collective workspace for an artist-friendly fee. Members of the cooperative offer visiting artists a sense of community and a local network during their stay. Tools and suitable workspaces are available for painters, multidisciplinary artists, performing artists, designers, architects, textile and paper artists, writers, printmakers, sculptors, as well as researchers or curators. We warmly welcome artists from all disciplines, as long as our facilities and equipment support the work planned! The residency provides a starter set of basic materials, although artists are generally expected to cover the costs of their own materials.Studio / Workspace A private room in the accommodation facilities is suitable for smaller-scale work, writing, or, for example, media artists. The bright rooms are equipped with desks and easels. A separate studio space is located nearby, at the end of the street in Nostates' collaborative workspace, where easels and work desks are available. The space includes tables and seating for public events of up to approximately 25 people and is suitable for practices such as painting, printmaking, sculpture, or community-based art. Summer residency programme Deadline: 15 Dec 2026 Country: France “La Foulerie” is an artistic center on a human scale in Normandy, in a rural area. We are specilaised in a number of areas: hosting artists, film shoots, workshops, advice and expertise, training, etc. The summer residency programme are open from May to October each year. As a place for experimentation, based on sharing the process of artistic creation, we favor interdisciplinary forms that allow us to take a look at the landscape, its population, its heritage and its history. Various artistic disciplines are welcome: photographer, performance company, fine art artist, writers, filmmakers. Reception conditions : Residents are accommodated in the main house (2 rooms with shared bathroom). They pay a contribution towards their room and meals. La Foulerie is independent and operates without government subsidy. You are autonomous in your project – to develop it, we make our premises and accommodation available to you. You have access to our studios (musique, danse, fine arts, wood atelier), editing room, workshops and outside areas. You are responsible for your own travel and meals, as the house has a fully equipped kitchen. Accommodation La Foulerie is an arts center located in rural Normandy. Residents are accommodated in a private room (25 m²) in the main house. There is a bathroom with toilet on the landing. You have free access to the main kitchen, as well as the summer kitchen (near the workshops). There are many opportunities to get together for meals, movie nights, walks, or trips to the beach. The nearest town, with all amenities, is Gavray (4 km away). The nearest train station is Villedieu-les-Poêles (17 km away). Paris is 3 hours away by train or car (340 km). Disciplines, work equipment and assistance Various artistic disciplines are welcome: musicians, photographers, theater companies, dancer, visual artists, writers, filmmakers. Régine and Nico welcome you to La Foulerie (a small-scale cultural center). Régine runs a cultural consulting and production agency, while Nico is a film set designer. The studios are housed in a former 500 m² barn. They offer a carpentry workshop, a sound studio for rehearsals, visual arts workshops, and a dance or theater studio.Studio / Workspace We provide a dance studio (60m²) or theatre rehearsal room (fitted with a linoleum floor covering laid over a wooden floor), a sound studio (30m²), an art studio (40m²), a woodwork workshop, and a garden with various terraces.Fees and support Hosting 60€ per day (private room for 1or 2 persons) Dance studio 300€ per week Art studio 150€ per week Sound studio 300€ per week We offer meals (home-made organic and local products ) if you like to share with us : 25€ per meal If you like to cook by yourself it’s no problem. It is situated ten km east of the small town of Bengtsfors, in the province of Dalsland, South-West Sweden. Away from the energetic and often hectic art world of the cities, this residence provides a tranquil and intimate space for art and reflection. The residence is an artist-run project organized by Lina Berglund (www.linaberglund.com). RUD AIR welcomes artists from all over the world to come and spend some time in the house and its surroundings. The program is self-directed. RUD AIR simply aims to provide breathing space away from the obligations and routines of everyday life. It offers plenty of space in a calm environment enabling you to immerse yourself in your vocation and concentrate, research, experiment or simply clear your mind. Producing artwork or a final product is a possibility but not at all a requirement. Duration of residency 1 week-6 weeks Accommodation There are two apartments available, in close connection to the studio. One apartment is private with kitchen and bathroom. The other has three private bedrooms with one shared kitchen and bathroom. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance RUD AIR´s main focus is on the visual arts; painting, drawing, photography, video, installation and performance. It encourages as well interdisciplinary and cross-boundary practices. Dance, writing and research also fits well in this setting. RUD AIR emphasize on the unsure, unsecure, undefined and unexpected states of the creativity process. The working facilities are low-tech and simple. Artists bring and manage their own materials. RUD AIR has no production equipment available. Only free-standing walls to work against, desks, chairs, bookshelves. Other facilities include: Internet, washing machine, bicycles, camping equipment and a canoe. Guestartists will be presented to a number of local artists and persons, who they can contact if they want to. The residence host dont live in the house but will come to meet the visiting artists at arrival. The host can always be contacted by phone or email.Studio / Workspace The house has a large, spacious hall with an area of 115 square meters. Measuring five meters from floor to ceiling, the hall has seven large windows which provide an impressive ambient light. There is in addition a little stage. It is open to artists and creative practitioners at a range of experience levels and is particularly accessible to those interested in working with marble for the first time. No previous stone-carving experience is required. Participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of working with marble, from understanding and selecting the material to cutting, carving, shaping, grinding, and finishing. The first two weeks include approximately 40 hours of structured instruction, with mornings dedicated to working with Rasma and afternoons available for independent studio work. The third week shifts into a more independent working period, with Rasma available on a limited basis for consultation and guidance as participants develop and complete their work. The workshop begins with the material itself and the landscape it comes from. Participants will visit local working marble quarries, learn about the region’s long relationship with marble, and select their own stone from locally available marble off-cuts. These visits offer the chance to experience the landscape and material at its source before bringing selected pieces back to OBRAS to begin working. The scale of the workshop is intentionally human. Participants will work with pieces of marble they can personally handle, work on at OBRAS, and ultimately take home with them. Marble and use of the necessary carving tools are included in the workshop fee. This is more than a daytime workshop. Participants live at OBRAS for the full three weeks, staying in Casa Principal and becoming part of the residency community. Alongside the workshop, there is time for independent studio work, shared dinners, conversations with other artists in residence, and the everyday experience of living and working at OBRAS in rural Alentejo. At the end of the three weeks, participants will be invited to informally share their finished work and talk about their process and experience. The cost for the three weeks is €1,795 per person. - INCLUDED: three weeks of accommodation at OBRAS, studio/workspace access, approximately 40 hours of structured instruction, marble, use of workshop tools, quarry visits and marble selection. - NOT INCLUDED: Travel to and from OBRAS, most meals and groceries, personal expenses, travel and medical insurance, and shipping or special transportation of completed work are not included. Palimpsest Project 2026 | Mural Painting Open Call Deadline: 18 Dec 2026 Country: Argentina The Palimpsest Project is a mural painting residency conceived as a “work in progress”. Recovering the word palimpsest’s original meaning, the terrace in the ´ace studio becomes a living organism in which the artists paint their murals by dialoguing, intervening or overlapping with the previous ones. Palimpsest is a project in constant mutation, in which artists are encouraged to superimpose their murals or interlace them with the previous ones, achieving a new awakening of what was already on the wall. More than an individual work, the murals express the superposition of many hands, residences and artists. These actions are considered a way to embrace and, at the same time, demystify the work of the other. This residency program is aimed at established, mid-career or emerging visual artists, with a special interest in muralism and/or urban art. Groups of up to 2 members can apply together to work collaboratively. In addition, in these residencies, there is the possibility of working collectively collaborating with other residents or local artists. About the Residency Programme This electro-etching residency-workshop introduces artists to an alternative printmaking process that is safer than traditional acid etching. It uses a fully non-toxic electrical method, eliminating the acids, aerosols, rosin and asphaltum traditionally used for etching and aquatint. Artist Alfonso Crujera will guide residents through the fascinating process of electro-etching on copper or zinc plates.
