A sense of history, with retro pieces of furniture and original wooden floor, windows, doors and a fully functional kitchen for the self-catering of residents, bathroom, Cable TV, Wifi, washing machine. The space was renovated over the course of a whole year and decorated following an ‘‘eclectic luxury’’ approach that combines vintage design with contemporary art. The space is filled with original art and vintage objects sourced in galleries and antique shops across Serbia and Europe. August 2026 können Bildende Künstler:innen mit biografischem Bezug zu Hessen wieder die Gelegenheit, sich für ein Reise- oder Residenzstipendium der Hessischen Kulturstiftung zu bewerben. Wer sich bewerben kann Für die altersunabhängigen Stipendien bewerben können sich bildende Künstler:innen, a) die in Hessen geboren sind oder b) die seit 1. Januar 2025 in Hessen leben (Erstwohnsitz) oder c) die ein Studium an einer Kunstakademie bzw. in vergleichbaren Studiengängen in Hessen absolviert haben. Bewerbungen als Künstler:innen-Duo sind möglich. Bewerbungen mit minderjährigen Kindern und gegebenenfalls einer dazugehörigen Betreuungsperson sowie – in medizinisch begründeten Fällen – einer eigenen Betreuungsperson sind nach Rücksprache ebenfalls möglich. Hinter dem Haus schließt sich ein kleiner Garten an. Einige wichtige Galerien wie Whitechapel und Chisenhale Gallery liegen in den angrenzenden Stadtteilen Hoxton, Hackney und Bethnal Green, in denen sich in den letzten Jahren die junge Kunst- und Kulturszene etabliert hat. Das Atelierhaus wird durch Acme Studios verwaltet, die die Stipendiat:innen vor Ort betreuen und Kontakte zu Kunstinstitutionen, Künstler:innen vermitteln. New York Das kombinierte Wohn- und Arbeitsatelier befindet sich im Manhattaner Stadtteil Tribeca. In der obersten Etage eines fünfstöckigen Wohn- und Geschäftshauses steht den Stipendiat:innen der Hessischen Kulturstiftung ein 95 qm großes Apartment mit Wohn- und Arbeitsraum, Küche und Bad zur Verfügung. Paris Innerhalb des Gebäudekomplexes der Cité Internationale des Arts in der Rue de l’Hôtel de Ville befindet sich auch das Wohn- und Arbeitsatelier der Hessischen Kulturstiftung. Wohn- und Schlafzimmer, ein Arbeitsraum, Küche und Bad mit insgesamt 65 qm verteilen sich über zwei Etagen. In der Cité Internationale des Arts, die in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Centre Pompidou und dem Musée du Louvre gelegen ist, stehen den Stipendiat:innen alle Einrichtungen des großen Künstlerhauses wie Druck- und Keramikwerkstätten zur Verfügung. Istanbul Die Atelierwohnung befindet sich in der Regel inmitten des Stadtteils Beyoğlu. Von dort aus gelangt man fußläufig zum Galataturm und zu wichtigen Galerien und Museen für zeitgenössische Kunst. Es handelt sich um eine angemietete Atelierwohnung mit ca. 70-90 qm, welche von dem deutsch-türkischen Architekten- und Liegenschaftsbüro Manzara Istanbul verwaltet wird. Dieses betreut auch die Stipendiat:innen vor Ort und vermittelt Kontakte zu Künstler:innen sowie Kunstinstitutionen. Aviário Studio Art Residency aims to promote exploration and production in the Visual Arts. Artists can develop projects using a medium or a combination of technologies. Aviário Studio is an artist-run space with workshops equipped to develop projects on Printmaking, Ceramics, Wood, Metal, Sculpture, Installation, Drawing, Painting, Photography and Bookbinding. Duration of residency The duration of the residencies at Aviário Studio varies from 2 weeks to 6months. Accommodation You are free to decide if you want to stay at Aviário Studio’s accommodations or search for a place on your own. Aviário Studio has a guest house in the center of Ferreira do Zêzere and 2 km away from the studio (20min walk). If you decide to stay at Aviário Studio’s accommodations, you will be living in a shared house. The house is on the ground floor, and has one living room, an equipped kitchen, one bathroom, one toilet, three bedrooms, and outside space. There is free wi-fi at the house. All residents are responsible for their own bed-making, and for maintaining a clean and quiet house environment. Artist residency opportunity in rural Portugal – Atlas Residency 2026/2027 Deadline: 26 Oct 2026 Country: Portugal Atlas is an artistic lab exploring the interactions inbetween nature and creativity, it is an independent studio running a studio residency. Atlas residency is an opportunity for international artists to experience the countryside within close reach to Lisbon. This new residency space emerges from the already established Euroatlas studio residency based in Lisbon, from a need to reconnect with ways of living and creating that are in touch with the environment. The space is located in the village Carvalhal of the Bombarral Municipality, next to the vibrant and historical town of Caldas da Rainha. The Atlas residency is an independent artist space, with an independent focused program opened for emerging and established artists that are looking for a place of reflection away from their usual environment and that are self-sufficient in their research. Duration of residency The residency stay for artists or groups is between one and three months. Accommodation The studio of the residency is composed of a warehouse of 200m2 with a working and living studio, own kitchen and bathroom, and a permaculture garden, designed to have fruits and medicinal plants all year round. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance It is a non-prescriptive residency program with aim of facilitating the exchange of experiences and knowledge among artists besides their individual research and production projects. While in residence, the artists will benefit from production time enhanced by the exchange of ideas and experiences with peers. The residency provides accommodation and living space. The residency is open for application from groups working together or single artists and the program can be multidisciplinary in the areas of visual arts, dance, theater, writing and music.Fees and support The fee per month is 1800 eur per month (solo stay at the residency) and for collectives is 1300 eur (shared stay at the residency, more than one artist at the same time, sharing studio and house). Additional cost for partners is 600 €, and children under 12 years old a fee of 300€ extra per person. Atlas does not cover accommodation or travel expenses. The artist has to find their own sponsor in their country to cover the expenses. Additional costs might apply. Expectations towards the artist For self-sustainable mature artists that are producing work based on process and research from all creative fields. In case the residency is occupied by two different artists at the same time the monthly fee per person would differ. It’s an opportunity to immerse on your work in the countryside, free from cities’ noise and chaos. You tell us what you hope to achieve during your stay with us, how many pieces you want to make. Tell us your goals, your dreams and what inspires you. We are non prescriptive and tailor the residency around your aspirations. John’s brilliance lies in his mastery of material engineering. Through his mentorship, residents are guided to develop their own distinctive ceramic technologies and discover pathways to scale their production. His philosophy – “embracing the noble catastrophe” -is fertile ground for bold artworks that forage new frontiers. Duration of residency Our recommended residency is 2 month, 3 if you can, but we can work within a 1 month period if that is the maximum time you have. We just need to scale your expectations to the time allocated and the first 2 weeks would be super intense. Accommodation The artist would stay in one of our rooms at our guest house. Each room is private and has its own bathroom, kitchen, lounge, patio, garden and dining are all communual. The guest house is centraly situated in the Southern Suburbs in Cape Town and is close to public transport routes. We are within walking distance of shops and restuarants. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance This is specifically a ceramic residency so all clay artists. We have 3 studio spaces that John works from as a prolific artists. All three of these spaces are available. John does mostly handwork and we do have wheel that is used by residency artists and mould making. There are also three kilns. John is availble almost daily to give assistance and guidance.Studio / Workspace The guest house studio is a lovely tranquil studio that has a loarg glass table that we work at. It would be shared with the other art residents, it has an outside roofed annex with a wheel and shelving, John's two other studio are busy creative spaces where you might be working alone or with other artists. This is a lively practising studio with work always on the go.Fees and support The Winter Residency is R8 000 a week and includes Your first bag of clay A serviced, private room with en-suite at the John Bauer Guest House, which offers self-catering facilities. Use of John’s various studios, multiple kilns & test firings, any firing where a kiln is already going to be used and you sharig space. Standard clear glaze. The purpose of the program is to provide emerging and established creatives from all fields an opportunity to focus on their work in an environment well equipped for experimentation and the production of artistic output. Residency period: November 2nd – 27th Our Centre is a place to meet with other creative people in a warm collaborative community. The staff are at work Monday-Friday from 9:00 – 16:00, while residency artists have 24/7 access to the building. We offer a shared studio space for eight artists (95 m2). The studio spaces function as a “home base” for the artists and from there they can work on their creative projects in various facilities and workshops. The Centre has wood-, metal-, ceramic- and print workshops as well as a kitchen, small library, and a concert hall. Residency artists are provided with accommodation in family-size houses situated in the heart of our small village. Each artist has their own private bedroom and shares a kitchen, living room, bathroom, and washroom with the other artists. Internet access, a washing machine, bed linen, and a towel are provided. We offer the Shared Studio for 160.000 ISK (≈1150€ , 1300$) per residency period (short residency is 120,000 ISK – January and December), with everything above included. The residency fee must be paid 12 weeks before arrival. Artists take care of their own expenses for transport, meals, and art supplies. Duration of residency One Residency period or longer. Accommodation Our Residency Artists stay together in two houses. The houses are located in the heart of our small village and are about 3-4 min walking distance from the Centre. The houses each have a garden, bedrooms, large kitchens, a living room, a bathroom, a washroom, and internet access. Each artist has their own private bedroom and shares other facilities with their housemates. Upon arrival, each artist gets a towel and bed linen. We also provide toilet paper, products for house cleaning, and washing machine soap. Artists are expected to clean their accommodation during their stay and upon their departure to deliver the accommodation in orderly state. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance The Residency is multi-disciplinary and open to most creative directions. The Centre is equipped with wood and metal workshops, a ceramic workshop, a printmaking workshop, a kitchen, a recording studio, and a Concert hall. Our staff is at work from 9:00 16:00 on weekdays, while residency artists have 24/7 access to the building. The staff of the Centre assists residency artists with sourcing materials and other things that they might need during their stay. The staff also gives a basic introduction to workshops and facilities, enabling artists to execute their work. Please note that we do not offer a service of a workshop technician that produces artworks for artists. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance ´ace hosts residencies for artists, curators and researchers from a wide range of mediums and languages, such as print media, photography, video, performance art, sound art, installation, design as multiple object, digital media, artist books, painting, illustration, textiles, new media and the interweaving between them or with other contemporary art practices. We have a fully equipped workshop for non-toxic print media techniques such as photolithography, engraving, screen printing, woodcut, mokuhanga, mokulito, monotype, algraphy, bookbinding and more. Our workshop has presses, tools and an assistant (available per request) who works in direct contact with our residents to secure safe work methods, permanent feedback during the creative process and active learning through first-hand experience and experimenting. In addition, the Políglota Room is a perfect space for performance art, audio-visual installations, lectures, video projections, etc. Residents can also work in The Tower: a silent and luminous studio located on the second floor with an open view, accessible by a spiral staircase. It is ideal to do research, study, write and create in an independent atmosphere. Other studios can be set up according to the project proposal and each resident’s needs. There are also many tools available and a lab for photosensitive print media techniques, as well as video and sound equipments already installed for video projections or audio-visual explorations. Residents in a micro-Residency can use The Workshop, The Tower or the Dialogue Space, where they set up and make the most out of their short but intense stay with us.Fees and support WE DON’T CHARGE ANY APPLICATION FEE. Residencies have a basic fee and residency candidates can select other options.
