Custom-Made Residency Program Deadline: 12 Jan 2029 Country: Turkey arthereistanbul is launching its Custom-Made Residency Program and welcomed the first residents since 2015. These residencies of one to three months (or more) can be for research, reflection, project’s writing or development, without the pressure of production. The Custom-Made Residency Program is opened to artists, researchers, curators, writers, from all backgrounds and all kind of experience in various disciplines of arts and culture. The project and its adequacy with arthereistanbul’s vision and territory will determine the participation in our residency program. The purpose of this Custom-Made Residency Program is to allow artists / researchers / curators / art professionals to work on the first steps of their project. This can consist of writing a first draft, leading a research, looking for archives, gathering elements for an art project, or work on a small production. A custom made package is put together for each artist or group of artists. There can be an individual accompaniment by artehereistanbul team and other external specialists, if required for the artistic work process. arthereistanbul team can also offer her support and advice on administrative matters and help in finding partners. ‘In Simplicitate Libertas’ 1-Week UNESCO Site Discovery Deadline: 31 Jul 2026 Country: Italy RUC residency is focused on supporting artists’ development through reconnecting with nature and with the valley’s ancient traditions: the Camonica Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, is nestled high in the central Alps of Italy. It is renowned for its breath-taking glacial lakes and mountains, Roman archaeological sites, and most especially its prehistoric engravings carved in the rocks. RUC maintains a partnership with the Valle Camonica Center of Prehistoric Studies (Centro Camuno di Studi Preistorici) for academic programs and studies on archaeology and history. In 2016, nearby Iseo lake was chosen by Christo for the installation of the ‘Floating Piers’ in its astonishing beautiful and dramatic landscape. ‘In Simplicitate Libertas’ is RUC’s 1 week residency retreat at Villa Amati during which a small group of international artists will experience the ancestral magic of rural life in a small community. During the stay, in addition to focused studio and en-plein air working time, artists will have the opportunity to take part in workshops and cultural trips to discover the main historical-artistic treasures of the area. We intentionally host only 1 to 3 artists at a time, creating a calm and uncluttered environment where each resident can fully engage with their work without distraction. Unlike more communal programs, we do not organize shared dinners or group activities. Solitude is a key element of our philosophy. Each artist lives and works independently, while still having access to shared creative spaces if and when they choose. Each resident is accommodated in a private, fully equipped 120 m² duplex apartment, offering both comfort and autonomy throughout their stay. Artists also enjoy free and unlimited access to our two studios, which are the only shared spaces on site and can be used flexibly according to individual working rhythms. We are located in a small village in the South-West of France, in the Périgord Noir region, an area renowned for its extraordinary historical richness. Often referred to as one of the “cradles of humanity,” this region has been continuously inhabited since prehistoric times and is filled with caves, medieval villages, and remarkable heritage sites. The residency takes place in a restored 11th-century water mill, surrounded by nature, offering a peaceful and inspiring setting. At the same time, the village center with shops and everyday amenities is just a 10-minute walk away, allowing for both retreat and convenience. We provide bicycles to help residents move around locally. However, we recommend arriving by car, as the region is full of stunning landscapes and cultural sites that are more easily accessible with one. We are a fully independent, artist-run residency, and we strive to keep our fees as accessible as possible. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance We welcome a wide range of visual artists, including painters, photographers, and mixed-media practitioners. Our facilities are also well suited for textile artists, with access to two horizontal looms and two vertical looms, allowing for various weaving practices. For sculptors, we offer a dedicated studio equipped with a broad selection of machines and tools, supporting different approaches and materials. In addition, our peaceful setting is particularly conducive to writing and research-based practices. Each resident’s private duplex apartment provides ample space to set up a personal workstation and work in complete privacy. While we offer well-equipped studios and comfortable living spaces, our residency emphasizes autonomy: artists are free to organize their time and process independently within an environment designed to support focus and creativity. La Wayaka Current is an independent, artist-led, non-profit platform and does not receive regular institutional funding. Contributions cover the real costs of this programme working in a remote desert environment and sustain our collaborations, accommodation, shared resources and on-the-ground coordination. We do not accept funding from extractive industries. All support for the residency comes from aligned cultural partners and participant contributions. We work with a sliding-scale model to keep the programme as accessible as possible. Partial and full support is offered each season depending on availability. We’re also happy to provide guidance or letters for external funding applications. Full value of the residency: £2,600 GBP Reduced fee with financial aid: £2,200 — Bracket 1 (available to everyone) £1,900 — Bracket 2 (limited) £1,600 — Bracket 3 (limited) Scholarship • Fully Supported Scholarship (1-2 places per year) We can also offer additional support on a case-by-case basis for Latin American artists, Indigenous and BIPOC artists, and local artists from the region. Expectations towards the artist We are looking for people who: • Are interested in research and creative processes in dialogue with territory • Are open to a collective format of living, exchange and learning • Are willing to take part in field-based activities Finished outputs are not a requirement as the residency is conceived as a space for process, exploration and experimentation. With over 11,700 sq. ft of open space, it’s the perfect blank canvas for Exhibit Here’s returning Art Now Fair, and with previous clients such as Netflix, Nike, Adidas, Chanel, Sky and the BBC, it is a space not to be missed. The venue is situated within the heart of Copeland Park, which is also home to the iconic Bussey Building and Copeland Gallery. This collection of historic structures has been transformed into a thriving creative community, housing over 150 diverse businesses, making this the ideal place for your art to be seen. The space was a little rough around the edges, but the artworks breathed new life into it and gave it soul. This exhibition proved to be a fantastic launch pad for Exhibit Here and the beginning of what was set to become an exciting journey. Fast forward twelve years and twenty-one exhibitions later, Exhibit Here has become a leading arts organisation in London, which prides itself on providing the best exhibition opportunities for artists and visitors alike. Having proudly curated multiple large-scale exhibitions at venues such as the Menier Gallery, La Galleria Pall Mall and Bargehouse Oxo Tower Wharf, we continue to grow, and to mark this, have launched Exhibit Here’s Art Now Fair at Unit/08 Copeland Park, Peckham, which is set to return in September 2026. Meet the Founder Leila Bibizadeh FOUNDER, DIRECTOR AND CURATOR Leila Bibizadeh is of dual heritage, English and Iranian. She graduated from the University of East London with a degree in Fine Art in 2008. Prior to founding Exhibit Here she exhibited her work extensively across the UK, including at the Saatchi Gallery, Mall Galleries, Bankside Gallery, O2 Arena and Oxford Street’s John Lewis. Leila specialises in wildlife painting and enjoys photographing nature, specifically in Florida. As an artist and an entrepreneur, she is a firm believer in creating your own opportunities as she understands how difficult it can be to fight to have your work seen in the competitive world of art, which spurred her to set up Exhibit Here. She has a deep understanding of all forms of art, and she is passionate about showcasing the work of other artists and watching them shine. As the art world continues to evolve and art fairs become increasingly popular ways to exhibit and appreciate art, her ultimate goal was to create an art fair for Exhibit Here.
